A new mapping project for Limerick! TII just announced they'll be expanding the Limerick bikeshare scheme -- so where would be a good location for new stations??? Una's map just went live last night and it's already flying along. Where would you like a station, and why? 👇👇
It's been fascinating to guide people through the mapping tool and see its effects in real time. Handing power to people - with this tool, and with the @pluscities Positive Energy Champions campaign - is the most effective and transformative way to navigate the energy transition.
I love this map, of a future King's Island where its amazing natural resources are harnessed for sustainable power. Aoife from Abbey River Cafe, a @plusCities Positive Energy Champion, held walk-and-map sessions to crowd-source ideas for their community. https://t.co/Vh0PoJ1Ozx
Absolutely wonderful to see the Space Engagers mapping tool up and running as part of the @plusCities project in Limerick. We're supporting local people to run their own mapping projects, collecting data they can use for advocacy, organising, and the energy transition.
It is brilliant to see the responses start to roll in on @AnneCronin5's mapping project. She's using the @SpaceEngagers tool to crowdsource school routes for people walking and cycling in Limerick, asking people to pinpoint impressions of their route. See https://t.co/Vh0PoJ1Ozx
In our June blog Professor Alan Ahearne explains that in order to adapt, SMEs need to tap into new business opportunities associated with Covid-19. Find out more here https://t.co/D2AJNCJAXb @nuigalway @whitaker
Limerick runs on the power of its communities. As part of @plusCities City Engage Week, I'm hosting a conversation (Wed 7pm) between 6 of Limerick's most active community group leaders to talk about their work. No one knows more about the people of this city than them. 1/
'Take control of your energy' is the theme for @plusCities Positive Energy City Engage Week #3 in @Smart_Limerick

As part of City Engage week with @plusCities in Limerick, we're running a public conversation with six community leaders to discuss their work in the city, and their year with Covid. There's so much to learn from the energy and ingenuity they've shown. 1/2
The latest Limerick @plusCities Open Innovation Call is now in a new phase as we've identified six amazing projects to support. They'll be announced publicly soon. It's going to be a lot of fun.

Looking forward to helping with this campaign with @SpaceEngagers. We'll be working on the "empowering communities" strand of the campaign, using mapping as a tool for local engagement. Have my fingers crossed for a few summer outdoor events...
We're helping to run another Open Call, which is looking for people to run tech-based pilot projects in the city focused on improving understanding of energy use in Limerick. Bit of info here: https://t.co/Ej3F2lqQWL

The +CityxChange project in Limerick, and our work in it, is intensifying this year. The new potential to sell energy back to the grid is an amazing opportunity, and +CxC is helping people in the city get started. Learn more about the project:

People who join the project this year can get free smart meters to monitor energy, and specialised analysis of how their building could improve energy use. They'll get opportunities for energy sharing (making an energy community) and for feeding back to the grid.
Delighted to be working with @cityintersect@SpaceEngagers
On CityxChange @plusCities Climathon. Last year was incredible with amazing projects being brought forward. Dont miss this opportunity to get involved and develop new innovative solutuons for our climate @Limerick_ie@UL
