@jari428 there are lots of games that get through relatively unscathed because the eroge H scenes are just a small part of a long story-based game. people still want the patches for these
people keep qrting with “ohh valve is my little chungus bent to the mercy of payment processors” when the larger issue for devs is their internal review system, a draconian “one strike and your game is out”. no feedback, room for error, or communication about what to avoid
Wearing a shirt saying "I ❤️Valve but I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY wish their internal polices didn't have medium wide negative consequences for Visual Novels".
@jari428 I mean just the fact that they are the biggest storefront, allow modding, and have a line drawn for certain content is what enables this. should they not allow modding? should they crack down on patches? or do you think if the review process was better no one would want patches
@jari428 I don’t think that’s the worst thing in the world and a lot of devs and players are prepared to take a concession like that for having games on the most popular storefront. but it exacerbates the previous issues
if valve’s staff only saw this as an issue of puritanical corps vs. artists and wanted to help devs out they easily could. that isn’t the case so its clearly not their issue
