In the world of crypto journalism: @decryptmedia has raised a $10m series-a after spinning off from parent @ConsenSys
The funds will be used to build out its journalism capabilities with @pub_DAO
Great win for independent journalism and I’m interested to see this unfold
@SquareEnix is selling $300m+ of IP and studios so they can focus on #blockchain gaming
So their inevitable coin will be named “Gil” right? #finalfantasy
#NFTs are coming to #football (soccer for US people)
@OneFootball raised a 300m series D led by @LCVentures
With Dapper Labs also involved it looks like they are going a similar approach to @nbatopshot
With 100m+ monthly active users on OneFootball this could be huge
In need of #NoCode solutions for #Web3? Venly might eventually have your solution.
The company just received $22.1m in Series A funding to build no code solutions for game studios and publishers
Currently the company offers #NFT tools, a digital wallet and marketplace services

OurSong https://t.co/WRotl936Hv raised 7.5m to allow artists to monetize their content through NFTs
John Legend is involved with the company so he can lend some clout to this deal
Will it help musicians profit more off their work vs the current streaming environment?

A couple funding updates from this week:
Mad realities https://t.co/t8X68kuyCQ raised 6m to continue building out their media brand which includes show Proof of Love.
NFT holders can vote on contestants, put their friends on the show, and experience other perks

Web3 is a great space but we definitely need more of these types of bridges to allow greater adoption of technologies over time.
Good UX for those that aren't as technically savvy is necessary for long term growth

Looking further into DeSci and DeFi, came across https://t.co/fXK83w333U
The project is still in alpha but just received funding and looks like it could serve to pull DeFi and CeFi closer together and make handling expenses way easier for DAO members

Ideas like this make the Web3 space so exciting. If these DAOs succeed they open the door to tons of other opportunities
It starts with owning a house or a team, but what about a whole league? The possibilities are endless if we can come together and make it successful

Some more #NBAPlayoffs related Web3 projects:
MJ's Highland Park house has been on the market for a decade. Now @MJsHouse_ DAO has formed to buy the property.
The house itself is pretty awesome: https://t.co/8VAGMnuJTK and totally custom to Jordan

Another wildly ambitious DAO is @KrauseHouseDAO. A group of basketball fans trying to buy an NBA team
As a fellow NBA fanatic this is pretty amazing. Giving fans a voice in how a team is run would be a real interesting experiment
With the #NBAPlayoffs in full swing, wanted to share some cool NFT projects happening now:
The NBA released some NFTs for the playoffs, on OpenSea now: https://t.co/theRAtZuHP
Swoops is bringing fantasy basketball to blockchain: https://t.co/mDnBJgedaF

Hopefully this all made sense and leveled up your knowledge about smart contracts a bit
I'm on a quest to devour as much Web3 content as I can and figured others might be interested in the journey and learnings

Have you ever been part of a financial transaction that fell apart? Maybe a 3rd party was holding your $$ and it was a pain to get a refund? Or the deal went through and it took way longer than it should have for you to get paid?
Sounds like a smart contract could help

Legal enforcement and regulation is not great at this point. The law has just not caught up yet
Real world contracts can be messy. If there is any vagueness in a contract it can be hard to implement as a smart contract which requires clear, precise rules to execute
