Few things stood up last year when we reviewed companies’ storage and backup setups across Finland and abroad👇

1️⃣ Regulations are taken surprisingly lightly
My neighbor doesn’t do it either -mentality. Did you know that NIS-2 has been effective in Finland since last September?

2️⃣ Ransomware recovery assumptions = False hope
Backups exist but…have they ever been tested? Are you actually able to recover all business-critical data if you’re suddenly targeted for ransomware?

3️⃣ Hyperscaler lock-in feels harmless
It doesn’t really hurt during normal operations. It does hurt when the egress fees hit, or you realise that regulatory compliancy might actually be at risk when data is stored with non-European providers

6️⃣ Hard work at the Expo might have taken a toll 💪

7️⃣ The SpaceShuttle Express was working non-stop during Slush while driving our friends around town in the SpaceTime car.

8️⃣ Working as an official technology provider for @NATO technical demonstration in Riihimäki was amazing and very cold!
