Elon Musk's primary method of romantic communication is sending memes in the middle of the night.
Not love letters. Not thoughtful texts. Memes. At 2am. While the other person is sleeping.
Grimes described this to Isaacson. She said a typical evening of "connection" with Elon consisted of him sending a string of internet memes to her phone between midnight and 3am while she was asleep. She would wake up to 15 images, most of them absurd, a few of them containing a hidden tenderness that required context from a previous conversation to decode.
This is how the richest man on earth says "I'm thinking about you." Not with words. With a meme about a frog or a medieval painting or a screenshot of something someone posted on X that reminded him of an inside joke they share. The emotional content is real. The delivery system is a format designed for strangers, repurposed for intimacy.
He does not write love letters. He does not leave notes. He does not send flowers. The traditional vocabulary of romance is either inaccessible to him or feels performative in a way that memes don't. The meme is honest because it's casual. A love letter carries weight that his nervous system seems to resist. The meme carries the same message in a wrapper that doesn't require vulnerability.
The women who understood this language received the communication as intended. The women who needed the traditional signals experienced a man who seemed incapable of expressing affection when he was actually expressing it constantly in a language they didn't speak.
The richest man alive tells women he cares about them by sending internet memes at 2am. The medium is absurd. The consistency is the message. Every night. Without fail. 15 images in the dark.
Elon Musk was asked whether he's capable of being with one person.
His answer was more honest than any partner probably wanted to hear.
He said he is "not wired for monogamy in the traditional sense" but that he desperately wants to be. The distinction matters. He isn't saying he wants to be with multiple women. He's saying his brain doesn't stay focused on one person the same way it doesn't stay focused on one company. The attention migrates. Not toward other women specifically. Toward whatever is generating the highest intensity signal at any given moment.
During the first three months with any partner, she IS the highest intensity signal. The relationship is new. The novelty activates the same dopamine circuitry that a new engineering challenge activates. The woman receives the full undivided focus of the most intense man she has ever met. She concludes this is what life with him will be like.
Then a rocket fails. Or a factory stalls. Or a product launch approaches. The company becomes the higher intensity signal. The attention migrates. Not to another woman. To a factory floor. The result is the same. She is no longer the focus. The absence feels identical to infidelity even though the rival is a building full of engineers, not another person.
He described wanting the feeling of total partnership. Wanting someone who fits into his life permanently. Wanting the settled contentment that he sees in other couples. Wanting it with the same intensity he wants Mars. The difference is that Mars is a problem he can solve by building hardware. The partnership requires a capacity for sustained low intensity presence that his nervous system doesn't produce.
He wants monogamy the way a colorblind person wants to see red. The desire is real. The hardware doesn't support it.
Grimes discovered that Elon Musk had fathered twins with another woman when the story broke publicly. She learned about it the same way the rest of the world did.
The mother was Shivon Zilis, a senior executive at Neuralink.
The twins were born in November 2021, just weeks before Grimes and Elon had their second child together through a surrogate in December. The timeline means that while Grimes was carrying his child, another woman was also carrying his children. Simultaneously. In the same city. Working at one of his companies.
Grimes tweeted after the news broke: "I cannot believe this is real." She later told Isaacson she had gone to Shivon Zilis's house to confront the situation and that things were "painful" but they eventually developed a civil relationship for the sake of the children.
The detail that defines this moment is not the affair or the secrecy. It is the timeline. A man who schedules his life in five minute blocks, who manages six companies with total informational awareness, who catches errors on page 34 of engineering documents, maintained two simultaneous pregnancies in the same metropolitan area without the two women knowing about each other.
The organizational capacity required to manage that level of compartmentalization is itself extraordinary. The emotional capacity required to believe it was sustainable is the part that reveals the character. He did not expect to get caught because the part of his brain that models outcomes genuinely believed the compartments would hold.
They didn't. They never do. The man who manages complexity better than anyone alive discovered that the complexity of human relationships doesn't respond to management.
Elon Musk's daughter filed a legal petition to change her last name and sever all ties with her father.
The filing stated she no longer wished to be related to him "in any way, shape or form."
The petition was filed in a California court. It became public record. The internet found it. The most powerful man in technology was publicly disowned by his own child through a legal document that anyone could read.
Elon responded in an interview months later. His voice changed when he discussed it. The man who speaks about rocket explosions with analytical calm and describes billion dollar losses as "lessons learned" could barely hold himself together discussing a child who doesn't want his name.
He said he felt he had been "tricked" into decisions regarding his child and that he was told the child might take their own life if he didn't agree. He said he lost a son. His exact words. Then he said his child "is dead, killed by the woke mind virus."
The language is combative. The emotion underneath it is not. A father whose child has publicly declared that the relationship is over and that the name itself is unwanted is a father experiencing a rejection that no amount of money or power or achievement can address.
He has survived companies dying. He has survived marriages ending. He has survived public humiliation on global stages. None of those produced the visible pain that this topic produces when it comes up in interviews.
The man who controls the narrative on almost every topic in his life has no control over this one. His child made a public statement that cannot be engineered away, negotiated around, or solved with a spreadsheet. Some problems don't have a technical solution. This is one of them.
Elon Musk met Grimes because she made a joke about artificial intelligence that nobody else on the internet had made before him. He had been about to post the same joke. He found her tweet first. He DM'd her. And the most unlikely relationship in public life began over a punchline about a thought experiment called Roko's Basilisk.
Roko's Basilisk is an idea so obscure that most AI researchers don't discuss it publicly. It's a hypothetical scenario where a future superintelligent AI punishes anyone who knew about its potential existence but didn't help bring it into being. It's the kind of concept that only someone deeply embedded in AI philosophy would find funny.
Grimes found it funny. Elon found it funny. And the discovery that another human being on earth occupied the exact same intersection of niche AI philosophy and dark humor was, for Elon, the most attractive thing a person had ever done.
He didn't fall for her appearance. He didn't fall for her music. He fell for a tweet about a hypothetical AI god that fewer than 10,000 people on earth would understand. The connection was intellectual before it was anything else. Two minds that operated in the same obscure corner of the internet finding each other through a joke that served as a password to a club with almost no members.
Most people fall in love through proximity. Through appearance. Through shared social circles. Elon fell in love through a joke about artificial superintelligence that functioned as proof that someone else's brain worked the way his does.
He found what he was looking for. Not someone beautiful. Not someone famous. Someone whose mind made the same joke at the same time about something almost nobody thinks about.

Elon Musk schedules his entire life in five minute blocks. Every meeting. Every meal. Every factory walk. Every phone call. Five minutes, allocated, executed, next. It is the most optimized schedule of any human being on earth.
He does not schedule time for love.
Not because he doesn't want to. Because he can't figure out where it goes. The five minute blocks are full. The factories need him. The rockets need him. The 13,000 employees and 12 children and six companies need him. Every five minute block is spoken for by something that has a measurable output. Love does not have a measurable output. It cannot be KPI'd. It cannot be sprint planned. It does not fit in a block.
He once estimated that a relationship needs "maybe ten hours a week." But even those ten hours don't have a block. They exist in the theoretical space between the blocks that are already filled. The relationship gets the margins. The scraps of time between the things that have deadlines. And the partner, who is a human being and not a calendar item, eventually feels the difference between being a priority and being whatever fits in the gap between two factories.
Every woman he's loved has lived in the margins of his schedule. Not because he doesn't care about them. Because the system he built to manage everything else doesn't have a category for something that can't be measured. And love, the one thing he says he cannot live without, is the one thing his system was never designed to hold.
The most optimized schedule in the world has no slot for the thing he needs most.
During the worst period of the Amber Heard breakup, Elon Musk's behavior at Tesla became erratic in a way his employees had never seen. He would skip meetings. Cancel calls. Show up late. And then, in the middle of a critical discussion, he would stop everything to play Monty Python clips on his laptop.
One employee described a meeting where Elon pulled up a skit about aristocrats debating whether "antelope" or "sausage" was the better word. He played it. He laughed uproariously. Then he played it again. His colleagues sat waiting to return to the engineering discussion they had been in the middle of.
This happened multiple times. Not once. Not as a quirky moment. Repeatedly. During a period when Tesla was in production crisis and his personal life was collapsing simultaneously.
The clips were not about humor. They were about interruption. The brain that runs six companies cannot be turned off. It runs calculations even while sleeping. The Monty Python clips were the only thing absurd enough to override the loop. For 90 seconds while a British man debated the merits of the word sausage, Elon's brain stopped calculating the production shortfall AND the breakup simultaneously. The comedy was medication.
His employees didn't understand it. They saw a CEO behaving strangely during a crisis. What they were actually watching was a man using 50 year old comedy sketches as the only tool available to interrupt a nervous system that wouldn't stop processing pain.
He went back to the meeting after the clip. Every time. The interruption was temporary. The pain underneath it was not.
Elon Musk was asked by Axel Springer's CEO if he feels lonely. He said the loneliest he ever felt was in his small rented house in Boca Chica, Texas, working on Starship. And the thing that made the loneliness bearable wasn't a person. It was his dog.
He said when the dog was there, the house felt livable. When the dog wasn't there, the emptiness became physical. Not metaphorical. He described it as a feeling in the room that changed depending on whether another living being was present.
The man with 12 children, multiple ex partners, 13,000 employees, and 200 million followers found his most reliable source of comfort in a dog. Not because the dog was special. Because the dog was there. Consistently. Without conditions. Without needing him to be present in the way a partner needs. Without judging the hours. Without leaving because the attention migrated to a rocket.
The dog just existed next to him. And apparently, for a man whose entire life is composed of obligations, demands, and negotiations, an animal that exists next to you without requiring anything except proximity is the most peaceful form of companionship available.
Every relationship he's had came with requirements he couldn't meet. Every friendship operates within the context of his status. Every employee interaction is shaped by hierarchy. The dog just sat in the room and made the room feel less empty.
The richest man alive in a tiny rented house in south Texas finding more peace in a dog than in any of the relationships he's spent two decades trying to sustain. That's either the saddest detail in his biography or the most honest.
Talulah Riley married Elon Musk twice and divorced him twice and said the hardest part wasn't the divorces. It was the fact that she was married to two completely different people inhabiting the same body.
She described a version of Elon that most people have never seen. A man who could be playful, tender, and present in a way that was almost childlike. A man who would get excited about a movie or a conversation or a silly joke with an enthusiasm that felt completely genuine. She said in those moments he was the most lovable person she had ever met.
Then the other version would arrive. Sometimes overnight. Sometimes mid sentence. The eyes would change. The warmth would disappear behind what she called a steel wall. He would become someone else entirely. Cold. Distant. Unreachable. The person she married would vanish and be replaced by a machine that was already back at the factory in its mind before its body had left the room.
She said the transitions weren't gradual. They were switches. One day she was married to the man she loved. The next day she was married to someone she didn't recognize. And the man she loved would return eventually, sometimes hours later, sometimes weeks later, with no acknowledgment that he had ever left.
She married him the first time because of the tender version. She divorced him because of the cold version. She married him again because the tender version came back and she believed it would stay. She divorced him again because it didn't.
Two weddings and two divorces to the same man who was never the same man twice.
The interviewer told Elon Musk that his pattern of needing to be in a relationship at all times showed "textbook codependence." Elon didn't argue. He didn't deflect. He sat with it.
Neil Strauss, the Rolling Stone reporter, had spent enough time with Elon to see the pattern clearly. Relationship ends. Emotional collapse. New relationship begins within weeks, sometimes days. The new relationship receives the same initial intensity. The same gradual withdrawal. The same ending. The cycle repeats.
Strauss pointed out that this pattern typically originates in childhood. A parent who gave love inconsistently. A child who learned that connection is unreliable and must be constantly secured. A boy who grew into a man who cannot tolerate being alone because alone once meant unloved.
Elon's childhood was exactly that. A father who alternated between attention and cruelty. A mother who was absent during formative years. A boy raised by books and a housekeeper who found warmth in stories because the people in his house didn't provide it reliably.
He didn't push back on the diagnosis. He absorbed it the way he absorbs technical feedback. Data received. Pattern recognized. Solution unclear.
The man who fixes everything cannot fix this. He has been told exactly what the problem is. He understands the origin. He can trace the wiring from Pretoria to Palo Alto to the bedroom where he lies awake unable to tolerate the silence. The diagnosis is complete. The understanding is total. And the pattern continues unbroken.
Codependence. Identified. Understood. Unchanged. The one system in his life that understanding alone cannot repair.

The lion cannot learn the art of the hunt from descendants of the hunter who tried to erase its story!
For generations, the #African diaspora has been fed a specific script about their motherlandโฆ tales of scarcity, poverty & backwardness, but a quiet rebellion has begun. Across the West, thousands of Black professionals, tech founders & educators are buying one-way tickets to #Africa. They have finally realized that everything they were told about the motherland was a lie!
You cannot learn your history from the descendants of those who murdered your ancestors to erase it! For centuries Caucasians understood a simple rule of conquestโฆ to control a people, you must make them feel inferior. You must convince them that their language, features & architecture are primitive.
Once that trick worked, the greatest economic heist took place. Colonizers arrived with printed paper & convinced our ancestors to trade timeless gold for it. Today, that trick continues through education, media & social media. The West teaches that Africa has nothing to offer, while their own economies are driven through the forceful exploitation of African resources. It makes you wonder who is dependent on whom. Perhaps we should redefine the "First World", because the current one only survives by draining the "Third"!
The deepest irony is the sheer hypocrisy. For centuries, Caucasians dismissed African mud & thatch architecture as primitive. Those same architects copied our ancestral techniques & rebrand them in Europe today as "sustainable luxury eco-housing"! They claim it as a modern invention while reporting back that Africa lacks development. It is the same hypocrisy of countries that wiped out their own wildlife, but presume to lecture Africans, who have coexisted with nature for generations, on conservation.
This pattern happens everywhere. They labeled African dances "primitive", while spending millions of USD & Euros on dancing lessons to no avail! They mocked African features & put our ancestors in human exhibitions, only to spend millions on cosmetic surgeries today for full lips & curves, but a copy can never match the original!
The West has hit its developmental ceiling. Its populations are shrinking & aging rapidly. Conversely, Africa holds the monopoly on the future with the youngest population on earth.
For professionals in tech, science & education, the continent is a frontier of opportunity. Take educatorsโฆ by securing international school placements, you can earn in stable foreign currencies like Dollars or Euros. You don't compete with local wages & you retain the financial leverage to build. When you build a home with foreign capital, a micro-economy forms around you. Local shops thrive, creating employment opportunities. You cease to be a worker navigating a system designed against you, transforming into an entrepreneur where you are celebrated.
However this return must be governed by intentional wisdom! The diaspora is vulnerable if they move blindly. Never buy land based on digital promises. Never fund construction without strict oversight. To test who you can trust on the ground, useย a Grocery List Testโฆ find at least two locals who are not acquainted with one another. Hand them the exact same grocery list for the same market. When they return, compare the yields. Last week, I addressed a European audience & the room fell into absolute silenceโฆ you could have heard a pin drop.
I questioned their blatant hypocrisy. They abandon theย tedious, exhausting care of their aging parents to #African migrants, nevertheless, they resent seeing an African driving a luxury vehicle. African families endure backbreaking night shifts while Europeans rest in comfortableย slumber. These workers have no time to enjoy their hard-earned capital, but upon waking, Europeans subject them to virulent racial slurs.
When European elderly need advanced support, they relocate to #Africa & marry young African girls acting as full-time nurses. These Caucasians remain blind to their parents' deviant behaviors, but express outrage when these ladies receive baseline compensation like citizenship in exchange. I questioned why Europeans do not migrate to Africa in their prime to contribute towards our economies, but prefer to relocate in diapers.
During harsh winters, Europeans feign illness. Meanwhile, African migrants cannot afford the luxury of convalescence, even when profoundly ill. Unlike the domestic workforce, migrant laborers lack institutional trust & protection under existing labor laws.
This entitlement spreads aggressively to our intellectual & cultural property. They steal our innovations & patent them as their own simply because they possess systemic power. When they commercialize our cultural images for profit under labels like Alamy, Getty Images & Shutterstock, we will unapologetically take them right back! Most importantly, I demanded the return of our stolen artifacts, reminding them of their own lawโฆ "thou shalt not steal".
This predatory relationship extends to forceful extraction. When Western systems require critical minerals or anatomical organs to prolong their own lives, they rely on coercive harvesting across Africa. Our continent is treated as a permanent reservoir, plundered under duress to subsidize European longevity!
Academic excellence by African scholars is systematically ignored until a one of us attains global prominence, like President @BarackObama. Auma Obama was belatedly celebrated as German while erasing the intolerable racism she endured. This exact paradigm replicates itself on the athletic stage. When a football club loses, the media immediately penalizes nascent African talent as the face of failure, while older European players are shielded & their faces spotlighted in victory.
Across Western institutions, Africans & Asians function as the foundational workforce. Regardless, when physical frailty renders them incapable of further toil, the very same institutions built on their sacrifice offer zero structural security. Instead, the response lapses into, "Scheiร Auslรคnder!" & right-wing demands for "remigration" by the AfD.
I countered with an ultimatumโฆ now that we are within your borders, learn to embrace our cultures & languages, just as you once brutally forced entire continents to adopt yours. If you do not want us here, return our stolen lands in Africa under international loot laws. Furthermore, I reminded them that the world's first dollar trillionaire was born in Africa, yet his empire has forgotten the ancestral lands that made his fortune. He forgot the old adage "never forget where you came from".
In my parting words, I encouraged them to work harder to sustain their own societies. I highlighted the ultimate contradiction: when they need reliable caretakers, babysitters or cleaners they readily declare that #Africans are the most trustworthy for the jobs. It is the same dark irony as organ harvestingโฆ when they forcefully take our organs to prolong their lives, they look past race & remember that we all bleed red, the universal, common color of humanity.
I concluded with an uncompromising stance against this resurgence of fascism: #FckAfD #NazisRaus
Was my assessment flawed?

The 2026 @FIFAWorldCup has officially closed, leaving behind a legacy of digital censorship & systemic human inequity. While FIFA under the corrupt Giovanni "Gianni" Vincenzo Infantino actively scrubs match footage to hide corruption & blatant favoritism, it suppresses a much larger structural injusticeโฆ the systematic financial & logistical exile of the African fanbase & its key football icons.
The entire global infrastructure broadcasting this tournament, from HD streams to VAR replays, relies directly on coltan, cobalt & lithium extracted from the #DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) however, while corporate entities capitalize on these minerals, the ongoing humanitarian atrocities & silent genocide in eastern #Congo were met with strict, corporate-enforced silence. While Argentina's political statements went unpunished, FIFA weaponized its "no political statements" protocol to seize fan banners & scrub broadcast feeds of any solidarity gestures, using #Congolese resources to drive revenue while erasing the verysame people bleeding for themโฆ a direct insult to Patrice Lumumba's sovereign legacy.
This structural border imperialism reached directly onto the pitch. Elite #Somali referee #OmarArtan, voted CAF's Referee of the Year in 2025, was poised to make history as the first Somali official at a men's World Cup finals. Instead, despite possessing a diplomatic passport issued at the Somali Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya & a valid US visa, he was detained at Miami International Airport, subjected to an 11-hour profiling interrogation & deported. FIFA dismissed the ensuing outrage, telling furious African sporting bodies to simply "chill & relax," though Artan later returned to a hero's welcome in Mogadishu & received a high-profile @UEFA assignment in solidarity.
For regular supporters, attending the tournament cost an absolute baseline of nearly $10,000, effectively weeding out the world's most vibrant football culture by passport strength. Host-nation immigration policies enforced a punitive, mandatory visa overstay cash bond ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 just to secure an interview! A last-minute waiver introduced for ticket holders from countries like #Senegalย , #IvoryCoastย & #CapeVerdeย carried a strict "Catch-22"โฆ it only applied to those who bought tickets before 15. April 2026. Anyone purchasing later or via secondary resale markets was still forced to pay the massive cash penalty upfront.
Aviation costs compounded the isolation. Localized geopolitical conflicts caused #African Jet A1 fuel prices to surge by two-thirds, driving Senegal-to-Atlanta economy tickets to $2,100 - $3,100 USD (& R27,000 from South Africa). Furthermore, the tournament's 3-host setup created "double-visa traps". Fans following the Ivory Coast squad had group fixtures split between Philadelphia (USA) & Toronto (Canada), forcing them to fund & navigate 2 separate, notoriously slow & highly rigorous visa systems simultaneously.
Ultimately, African fans paid thousands for non-refundable tickets & appointments they weren't permitted to attend! US & Canadian authorities issued blanket visa denials to massive swaths of the Ivory Coast, Ghana & Senegal fanbases. This left eerie pockets of empty seats where global football's most rhythmic supporters should have stood. Through censorship, visa bonds & financial classism, #FIFA engineered an exclusive country club for Caucasians that left the soul of the global game at the border.
It takes a unique kind of mindset for Caucasians to systematically exclude #Africans, steal our resources & parade us around as scapegoats for their own failures. They willfully ignore the colossal elephant in the room, preferring to look at Africa for trophy hunting. Frankly, if Europe were excluded, the entire tournament would have been canceled!
Africans desperately need leaders who won't bow to foreign policies.
