@FabricDynosaur@LumenDrake@Ripjitter@YamanataVault Soft dps checks are fine. Stuff like Anjanath's flamethrower in world. These scripted hard dps checks where the monster has a pass or insta cart event you have to sit through for every hunt are the bad ones.
@FabricDynosaur@LumenDrake@Ripjitter@YamanataVault That stuff has also always or near always been around. The broader argument was that instead of reliance on dps checks, we can absolutely create more interesting and creative unique monster mechanics that make interactions with them more interesting WITHOUT being purely annoying.
@FabricDynosaur@LumenDrake@Ripjitter@YamanataVault Personally I enjoy a little frustration in mh as long as i'm given solutions to alleviate it. I don't really care that those monsters are considered terrible cause I think their issues have more to do with the implementation than the concept. Make it better instead of removing.
@FabricDynosaur@LumenDrake@Ripjitter@YamanataVault There are already monsters similar to this. Cephladrome, Plesioth, noise sensitive monsters, sleep and bombs to ease gravios hunts in old gen. This used to be the norm but they streamlined it for people who might have been repelled to widen the playerbase.
@Dynamo_Lynn The only dps checks that should exist in MH are soft checks like Anjanath's flamethrower and fulgur's dive bomb. While we're at it, canned cinematic hunt design needs to go immediately and never return.
@reddhairshanks@redtriggerzon The fact that he was already capable of using conquerors in the first place since wano shows that he had the right mind. The issue was that he wasn't in conscious control of it in the same way all other conqueror coating users were.
@beep47337534@Silver_KingGary@OfBuffalo85012 They bombarded the island he was on cause they were scared to face him. They didn't vaporize the entire island like a nuke would. Any high level baki character could survive a bombardment of general WW2 munitions if they could get cover.
@Silver_KingGary@OfBuffalo85012 Yujiro should also die to a nuke, the reason why you can't is because you'd have to nuke your own people to do it. Unless there's some way he can dig to safety or knows how to build a nuke shelter on the spot he dies to it. He's unnukable due to ethics and craft, not raw force.
@spinelessaisha I think people are reading too much into it. Solomon probably does put on a bit of persona in order to reach out to people and push the more honest and fulfilling world he wants to see, but that doesn't mean he isnt being genuine towards his beliefs.
@corruptmod@bigunitman We could have had one with a slight knack for earth and fire, and one with a knack for air and water and had them slowly learn each others elements with a new twist. What we get here seems to need to show more substance in the long run or the criticism is fair.
@BegitoBrah@corruptmod They're trying to say that even Aang is guilty of easily learning elements at a young age so korra shouldn't shoulder blame. Your counter argument is sort of the one with the most merit of all the responses so they deflected instead of responding to you genuinely.
@bluegatto1 My group just canceled our campaign our first time back in like 2 months after a ton of sessions of slow paced meandering. The slowness was defended at the time, but it 100% led to long term dissatisfaction.
@ToughCrate Genuinely I can only see Paige, Abrams, Pocket, and Apollo/Graves Highschool duo working as pov main characters. Everyone else feels like they work better as supporting the main pov in a team (up to a group of 5) or being a side character.
