Thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who did not match today. Understand that this is not the end of the road. Keep your head up and know that it will all work out somehow, someway!
Anyone have advice that I can share with friends/mentees that are going into the SOAP?
Shoot, even a discussion on women's health and interventions for our women population would have been a great topic. GEST definitely dropped the ball on that one but this is just my personal opinion/suggestion, not a knock on the conference itself, or the organizers
My only criticism for #GEST2023 was the underwhelming experience that my colleagues had to experience at the Women in IR session. I wasn't there personally but just hearing about it, i felt like more effort and planning could have been put into it. Its saddening especially when
I think that it would be a great opportunity to show appreciation for the women in our field as well as to, amongst the women theirselves, discuss their experience of being the minority and how to navigate in that space.
Had a great time at #GEST2023 this weekend! Heard great lectures that excite about the future of IR, made friends from several different states and countries, and got to connect with some potential mentors! Shoutout actually to one of my mentees for telling me about GEST 😄

Yesterday, I had the honor of being the keynote speaker for a 5th grade graduation. I hope I was able to inspire some of these kids as they transition on to middle school ☺️🎓
