EnergyPathways #EPP is pleased to announce the formal acceptance and award of a Gas Storage License by the North Sea Transition Authority, marking a significant milestone in advancing the MESH Project.
The Company has also commenced the Licence work programme and is planning an extensive survey in the East Irish Sea that will provide data to develop both the environmental, geological and seabed aspects of MESH. The survey results will underpin regulatory, engineering and subsurface workstreams as the Company progresses towards the next phase of development.
The Licence spans a vast offshore area that could support the construction of up to 60 large-scale salt storage caverns, with the potential for multi-terawatt-hour scale integrated energy storage, and over 7 days duration.
The MESH Project has been designated by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero as a project of "national significance", and will comprise compressed air energy storage (CAES), natural gas storage transitioning to hydrogen storage and complementary hydrogen production for clean power and sustainable hydrogen industry uses.
In addition, the company welcomes last week’s announcement by Ofgem, marking a major milestone in the development of the UK’s LDES market. With the Gas Storage Licence awarded, the Company is gearing up to enter its LDES CAES project into Ofgem’s second window of the cap and floor scheme.
Ben Clube, CEO of EnergyPathways, said:
"EnergyPathways continues to advance the LDES element of the MESH Project, which will be the UK’s largest LDES facility. Given its ability to supply multi-day duration power – as opposed to batteries which run out after a couple of hours - the Directors believe it is uniquely positioned to make a significant contribution to reducing the UK’s heavy reliance on expensive gas power generation and lowering electricity prices.”

Let’s deal with the elephant in the room with @energy_pathways: Funding and Timescale. @RedditDeluxe I’ll ask one question… When project funding arrives, will #EPP still be valued at £20-25m? The answer is a categoric NO!

🚀 Huge for @AtlanticLithium $ALLGH on GSE! Parliament ratifies revised lithium deal: sliding scale royalties + 1% community fund. Clears path for Ewoyaa — Ghana's first lithium mine. Major catalyst for production & value unlock. Green energy win! 🇬🇭🔋📈
On December 10th the Ghanaian government pulled #ALL's mining lease because the agreed royalty terms were not legally binding (nobody saw that coming). The general consensus was that it would take significant time to write new legislation.
Yesterday, just 9 days later, a new Legislative Instrument was presented to parliament enabling a sliding scale royalty to be applied (benefitting both the company and the government). This will become law in 21 sitting days subject to no majority challenge (very unlikely since the government have a strong majority).
The mining lease is expected to be ratified shortly after or maybe in parallel (since the government are now moving aggressively to keep their promises to the people of the Mankessim municipality).
Rising spodumene prices and a favourable royalty rate are a welcome relief for a very beaten down stock. A significant rerate is surely not far away and recent price action shows just how fast it can move 🐐📈
Ewoyaa will become one of the top 10 producing spodumene mines in the world, with top 5 economics (Geology ✔️ Location ✔️)
I just hope that Atlantic can keep hold of it!

This week, I had the pleasure of meeting with the Honourable Minister of Lands and Natural Resources to provide an update on our progress at Ewoyaa. I'm pleased to have his full support in finalising ratification, ensuring this important project moves forward for the benefit of Ghana and our host community in the Central Region. We look forward to parliamentary ratification of the lease.

"Initial assay results from the drilling completed so far in 2024 have again delivered impressive intersections, providing confidence in the growth potential of the current 35.3Mt @ 1.25% Li2O Resource at the Ewoyaa Lithium Project.
"These results are from the new Dog-Leg target, located on the northern tip of the Ewoyaa Main deposit, outside of the current MRE, where drilling has returned multiple high-grade and broad near surface extensional intersections, including 27m at 1.85% Li2O from 126m in these most recent results.
"We look forward to receiving further drilling results from the diamond tail drilling completed at Dog-Leg and delivering a MRE upgrade for the Project, now targeted for mid-year. The MRE upgrade will include updates to both the lithium and feldspar and incorporate all results received from drilling completed in 2023 and results from drilling completed so far during 2024."
