Sometimes I forget about Twitter and I recently realized I haven't posted several of my recent articles... like this one. It's the result of many days and weeks of struggling to get out a response to the everydayness of gun violence in the U.S. https://t.co/Ih3MNwSx6N
If we can’t imagine anything better than this, we can’t build anything better than this. It’s time to step out of the quicksand of what is and into the wide-open spaces of what could be.

Yo! more professional statement coming later on today but …OFF TOP shoutout the staff at @preemptivelove who STILL goin hard body on the actual work! Still peacemaking still loving anyway! Y’all’s backbone is why i ain’t gave up! In the midst of all this chaos, they persist
This is also true. But some of the Iraqi people
@preemptivelove serves have also claimed abuse and mistreatment. Any org accused of mistreating the people they're supposed to be serving should reconsider whether or not they're really helping.
It’s programs in other countries, women who just started their soap making business using plc programs after their neighborhood was bombed by U.S. targeted Air strikes. They future shouldn’t be destroyed Bc on some Bull sh-t they ain’t have nothin to do with
The lives of @preemptivelove staffers are also on the line here. As a result of abuse at the org, some have struggled with substance abuse, lost livelihoods, fought depression, and even contemplated suicide. No one else should have to experience that at an org committed to love.
💯 it took me while but I’m fully aware of what’s on the line here. LITERAL lives are at steak in multiple countries so I don’t wanna rush any words or decisions. Its heavy, One misstep, 142 people lose they job, I lose all credibility and refuges in Juarez get sent back.

@prophiphop This is true. But also remember that protecting the organization and its mission is not the same as protecting Jeremy and Jessica. Those 142 people could absolutely run the org and fulfill the mission without the people accused of abuse. It'd probably be easier without them.
I wrote the 1st draft of this letter in Sept. 2018. Right after I quit @preemptivelove. Now, as the organization faces an investigation into abuse of power, it's finally time to tell my story of how they taught me so much and hurt me so badly: https://t.co/UxWVHLZOx2
So this can not be out-of-the-blue for anyone at @preemptivelove. Evidently, they just didn’t realize how deeply we believe their message that violence doesn’t get the last word. We do.
#preemptivelove
I’d like to make it clear that we (former @preemptivelove employees) did everything in our power to resolve all the internal issues behind closed doors in order to protect the organization. This is not cancel culture. This is our last resort for some kind of accountability.
@lyndseymedford@preemptivelove Thank you Lyndsey. For thinking deeply, for asking good questions, for using your money to ask for peace and Justice and healing. We’re grateful.
I published my letter to @preemptivelove to:
1. To take responsibility for the questions I failed to follow up on as the organization grew. I'm sorry to those whose abuse I helped to fund.

The board of directors of Preemptive Love Coalition have hired an investigative firm to look into allegations of misleading donors and abusing staff made against the aid group's co-founders.
