Now that’s earned a laugh, one that has him planting a hand on his side. Though a brow arches behind his EVA VISR, his pace slowing to accompany her side.
“Bah—, I doubt you could be so bad.”
A brief pause.
“Perhaps their morale drops because they are envious —
“You know—, all things considered?”
The male starts, all before casting a glance back her way.
“You are a ray of sunshine.”
He understands her lack of enthusiasm and downright abysmal view; but that’s not going to stop him from some gentle taunting, at least —
A low, contemplative hum escapes. Brows rising ever so slightly as he takes her words into consideration, though he does speak up.
“. . . Mm, there are varying degrees of luck.”
Glancing back, his pace slows to avoid causing more pain.
“If we survive this? Perhaps—
“Are we not known for tight scrapes and turning the tide of battle?”
While the two began their hike; he’d keep his head on a swivel, eyes squinting ever so slightly.
“. . . We III’s are known for our horrid luck, so let us hope you change that for bot of us.”
“They can be—.”
He pauses a beat.
“Under the right circumstances.”
With her armed and ready to move; he’ll move ahead of her, only occasionally taking a glance back to her.
“If you need to slow for a moment, let me know.”
Eyes widen behind his own VISR, yet the male offers a gentle yet reassuring pat on the shoulder.
“. . . Reliance on such a thing is dangerous.”
Of course he’s attempting to keep the mood light.
“Are you ready—? This will not be a fun hike.”
A slow breath is drawn in, a hand helping to keep her upright until her strength fully returns.
“. . . I have been called worse.”
Taking a quick glance around before he rises to his feet, he offers her a hand.
“If you are able to stand—, then let us get going.”
“Fantastic—.”
He pauses for a beat.
“Sit and rest. . . Then we can see about moving to a more secure location.”
Shifting to sit by her side; he removes the canister from her presence, a hand shaking before tossing the empty can aside.
Now that earned a soft chuckle; the nozzle of the canister forces itself between the plates of her armor and her techsuit, all before the foam is dispensed.
“. . . Be offended if it helps you power on. . . I would rather apologize to a living soldier than a memorial.”
“Would you please lie still—?”
A hand moves, reaching behind him to grab at a can of biofoam, something to at least cover the wound without fully compromising her armor.
“. . . Besides—, I know what fine looks like and right now? You are not looking fine.”
A quiet hum of concern escapes, gloved hands attempting to survey whatever damage had been caused.
“. . . There is a difference between coddling and concern. The difference is built on. . . Patronizing tone.”
