It's not something I do often, but as a huge fan of Godzilla and other monsters, it's a dream of mine to make captivating art that shows off the magnitude of these monsters and the themes behind them.
@NateGojiB2014 I know some have better reasons than others that they don't like them, but I definitely agree. I'm sure some people like to write it off just for not being continuous over the top monster fights.
Obviously I have a HARD disagree with the majority of this list. The fact that films like Godzilla vs. Megalon rank above the anime trilogy or hell even Raids Again and Son of Godzilla is wild to me personally.
The top 10 WORST Godzilla films according to my polls:
10. GXK: TNE
9. Son of Godzilla
8. Godzilla vs Megaguirus
7. Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla
6. Godzilla Raids Again
5. G98
4. All Monsters Attack
3. The Planet Eater
2. Planet of the Monsters
1. City on the Edge of battle
@Hatercles@masked_awesome Exactly! I've also even felt some vague semblance to films like the original Planet of the Apes. There's so many scifi tropes that we've seen done in older Godzilla films, but I think done in a more serious and interesting way.
If you know me, you know I am pretty vocal about my love of the Toho/Polygon Godzilla trilogy, but I gotta ask, what makes people hate these movies vehemently, even hated more than Godzilla (1998) in some instances?
@Ultra_arc02 I'd say that some of it is overblown, and I've seen people admit that they don't even try to follow along because they're being out to sleep and getting bored out of their minds. I'm still surprised that people consider these worse than films like G98.
@KaijuMp4 I know upon first viewing it wasn't what I would expect from a Godzilla film, but having watched more science fiction films that utilize or delve into philosophical territory later, I grew to see more of what these films were doing.
