NYSID Member Agency @SpecDesigns, a New York-based business with nearly 90 employees, is expanding into New Jersey, opening a new location with plans to create jobs for young adults on the spectrum. They plan to launch the site in May with six positions and plan to double that number within a year.
“Before this, I only had part-time jobs, and even just getting the part-time jobs was hard,” said Kelli Fisher, NYSID's 2025 Trailblazer Award recipient. “On one job interview, an employer told me he couldn’t hire me because I didn’t make eye contact.”
