@BekaarAaadmi I'm abit puzzled why everyone disliked Hulk from 2003, i thought it had some really great action sequences and a good first effort for a modern Hulk movie.
Steam didn’t have to force people to believe that digital games were “cool.”
It had to give them a reason to switch.
•Automatic updates.
•Easy distribution.
•Digital downloads.
•Centralized game management.
•Regional availability.
•Community features.
•A solution to PC’s patching nightmare.
•A more convenient alternative to physical PC distribution.
Steam offered something.
Now compare that with what Sony is doing.
Sony isn’t necessarily improving the physical gaming experience by removing physical media. They’re removing something that already works.
They’re taking away ownership options, convenience and a part of console gaming culture that has enormous value to many players and then telling you that digital is simply the future.
That’s not the same thing. The transition from physical to digital on PC was far more functionally understandable because PC gaming already had:
•Patches
•Different hardware configurations
•Driver problems
•Online updates
•Digital downloads
•A massive piracy problem
•Complicated distribution
•International markets
•No single standardized hardware platform
Steam bundled all of these problems into one platform.
It didn’t kill physical media simply because it was Steam.
It became dominant because it solved problems.
So now I’ll ask you a very simple question:
What problem is Sony solving for you as a consumer by removing physical media? Seriously. What does it make better for you?
Because Steam gave PC gamers a reason to embrace digital.

@Levonaxper While we did indeed have discs for PC games most of them required CD-Keys to be able to be played, so the transition to digital wasn't met with much of a adversity because of the keys.
@Chris_Dring Why are people trying to condition us to except only what's best for Sony, even at our own detriment.
This stupid notion that because one thing makes them more money, therefore this other thing can't exist.
Both digital releases and physical should exist. I am not against digital and actually buy both. I don't support completely removing one option and not letting people pick the one they want to own. Thats why I'm strong advocate for physical media/games to stay around.
