Agendas and biases aside, how a front office can watch Jaylen Brown play basketball the last few years and still think he’s a negative asset based on analytics is crazy to me.
I get the money factors into it too but every team immediately gets better by adding him to a roster.
Free agent Moe Wagner has agreed to a two-year, $19 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets, sources tell ESPN. The deal contains a mutual option guaranteeing the $19M while allowing either side to opt-in (not opt-out) along with having a conversation about doing a new contract next summer.
By itself, this move doesn’t move me much.
He’ll be a solid addition off the bench and he’s a tough two way guard, but this isn’t moving this team up ahead of any other team in the projected standings.
Let’s see what else Marks has cooking.
Can we just acknowledge how crazy it is that KL chose the Clippers over Toronto however many years ago after a 🏆, had 0 playoff success, and is now returning to a place he never wanted to play in the 1st place?
Insanity.
Brandon Ingram will be included in the Raptors’ trade package for Kawhi Leonard as the headlining piece, per @WindhorstESPN.
The Clippers and Toronto have agreed on player details as they near a blockbuster deal at the start of the new league year today.
The Brooklyn Nets are interested in Mo Wagner.
“There were some fresh but loud signals Monday that Brooklyn has emerged as a real contender for Franz Wagner's older brother Moe.” - @TheSteinLine
Thoughts?
Ben Simmons on passing the wide open dunk that defined his career:
“I wasn’t hitting my sh*t…. I just gave the ball to somebody who was shooting a higher percentage at the time. How about (Matisse Thybulle) should’ve made the f***ing free throws? But he didn’t and it is what it is. That’s still my boy.”
Mikel Brown Jr. on his vision for the Nets:
“I was talking to Julius Randle about it the other day and he told me, ‘We’re gonna shock the world.’ That’s what we plan on doing.”
Lakers fans I got good news and I got bad news
The good news is Austin Reaves & Deandre Ayton will still be in the team next year
The bad news is you’re losing Lebron James and Marcus Smart.
But it’s not all bad, you still have Jake Laravia.
Brooklyn Nets forward Josh Minott intends to sign a new two-year, $9 million to return to the franchise, with a team option in second season, sources tell ESPN. The Nets declined Minott’s team option to clear the way for a new contract.
The Nuggets have considered a “major roster shakeup” and are willing to listen to offers for anyone other than Nikola Jokic, per @MikeAScotto

It's a different vibe in #NetsWorld. I've never felt the fanbase so hungry to win and so united.
I believe we're heading in the right direction. From the front office down to the fanbase, we're all ready to eat!
The #Nets extended Day’Ron’s option date by one day (now June 30), league sources told the Post. This gives the Brooklyn more optionality with his contract.
The Pelicans are shopping Jordan Poole’s $34 million expiring contract in trade talks.
New Orleans is targeting a win-now piece to bring aboard for new head coach Jamahl Mosley.
The Memphis Grizzlies Front Office is struggling desperately to find a trade partner for Ja Morant, per @WindhorstESPN.
Ja Morant was the future face of the NBA at one point and has his own shoeline with Nike. This is just sad to see…
WOAH: Nikola Jokic might not sign his contract extension with Denver this summer, which would open the possibility of him becoming a free agent in 2027, per @TheSteinLine & @JakeLFischer.
