@mystromark @DrEliDavid lol, this is the most untrue statement I’ve seen in years. I don’t hate Israel, and have complex feelings about it cause I’m a rational human other than this two sided cult situation and it is entirely unrelated to my relationship to science based climate issues
@d_chaloux California 39 mill 2 senators
Wyoming 500k 2 senators
Funny how you chose red state v blue state and also pointed to an area of the country that is at least remotely more populated densely than Wyoming whose votes count SIGNIFICANTLY more than most of the country
@aksocolofsky I absolutely tend to agree, I do love seeing when I know the composer is alive. Perhaps they put an asterisk with note denotes living composer
@Komaniecki_R I share my location with a few trusted friends, and they share theirs. This is for safety reasons. I have nothing to hide from these friends.
@juddgreenstein@jeffefferspin I prefer DAMN, but I much prefer Julia Wolfe’s Steel Hammer, John Adams City Noir, Steve Reich Different Trains, and so many other. The Pulitzer is often more about the person than the music. those winning pieces were not bad, but IMO not their best work, BUT best is subjective.
@Komaniecki_R Serious question. Why can’t we let people like the things they like, especially when it isn’t harmful to anyone? If you don’t like it don’t listen.
@aksocolofsky@moreaujonny I wonder though in the US wouldn’t access to notation provide someone with a bit more tools? Maybe it isn’t their daily default, but I’ve chatted with multiple DJ’s who don’t really read music and they do wish they did. It can be effective at communicating certain things.
@moreaujonny@aksocolofsky I do think they should read music. Not as a supremacy thing and I think it’s important to set them up for success with some of these potential solutions, but they should learn to set them up for a great career
@moreaujonny@aksocolofsky We are trying to find solutions within the curriculum which in my opinion is really innovative. These pop music students don’t need the full core and have pop music theory as an option and other things designed for that student
@burgessbonjovi@IndieWire The bigger point here is that he spent 6 years trying to mimic Bernstein, not learn how to conduct. A completely different skill
