So far so good.
But, I’m not gonna go overboard by UNM beating little brother from Cruces.
We should be winning against them.

This is by far the best UNM team in 15+ years.

@fredovmoreno As someone who was at the game, I think this is a big win in the scheme of things.
Every coach post Rocket has started his tenure with a bad loss. Eck gets a win.
Will bring some fan support back.

So, I didn’t watch the full UNM game, but here are some thoughts.
Liked the fight, the offense and the fact that this team didn’t fold and made the game competitive.
Didn’t like the turnovers and the defense once again looks a bit shaky.
Overall, though, I am impressed.

But, it is also due to a historically strong upper half of College Basketball, with teams loaded with senior talent.
I don’t think there are many teams left with a star freshmen, sans Duke and Maryland.
Something to consider when talking about this tournament.

Part of what makes March Madness awesome is the upsets and Cinderellas.
Instead we get 7 SEC teams and no mid majors.
I think there is a deeper story here. But not from NIL and the transfer portal.
But the attempt to make sure that the mid majors have no shot at doing well.
