UPDATE: RCMP, conservation officers and Transport Canada’s Office of Boating Safety are investigating this incident.

Police say the investigation is focused on the alleged careless operation of a vessel and want to prevent similar incidents. Alberta Forestry and Parks says the footage appears to show reckless and unsafe boating activity, adding it could put both participants and other visitors at risk.

A Canmore councillor also criticized the incident, calling it “incredibly disrespectful” to Alberta’s waterways.
