The King should cancel his visit to the USA. As Commander In Chief of the UK Armed Forces it is an appropriate reaction to the appalling comments from the US President. No King.
I unreservedly condemn the comments from the US President. Such remarks are profoundly disrespectful to the memory of those who served with distinction. A total of 457 British service personnel lost their lives in Afghanistan during the 20 year conflict and thousands more were wounded, many with life changing injuries. Their courage, commitment and ultimate sacrifice must never be forgotten.
I strongly believe President Trump must apologise for these remarks, which are deeply offensive and upsetting to the families of those who lost their lives in Afghanistan.
The Trump cultists continue to defend their man on the grounds that he is attacking the liberals and the globalists and the woke progressives, and isn't it great that the most powerful man in the world is bold enough to do such a thing?
There's just one problem.
Trump may be attacking the liberals and the globalists and the woke progressives - but he isn't weakening them. On the contrary, his conduct is galvanising support for them (look what happened in Canada and Australia, and is now happening in Denmark and across the EU).
If you took heart in the rise of national-populism across the West, you should be troubled - because Trump is undermining the movement. Perhaps fatally.
While we’re giving Mr Trump a much needed history lesson, here’s another.
Trump says Denmark should show more gratitude to America for liberation from the Nazis.
Except it wasn’t the Americans who liberated Denmark. It was the British. The Second Army to be exact, party of Monty’s 21st Army.
For the first time, I support what Starmer is saying here. Trump’s comments were out of line and insulting to our heroes.
He went too far.
He must apologise to our heroes - @realDonaldTrump
@SlyForTheRight The post is so misleading
Nigel farage said
“I never said I’d cut council tax”
Which is true
But sly u have quoted Nigel farage as saying
His defence? “I never said I’d cut taxes.”
Which would be untrue
.@realDonaldTrump can go f**k himself.
Anyone who mocks, demeans or minimises the sacrifices of British troops is no friend of our nation 🇬🇧
The US is a historic friend of the UK’s - but not this guy.
He should apologise to every member of the British armed forces who put their lives in danger fighting alongside our ally and particularly to those who paid the ultimate price.
What a crass and shameful statement.
This is completely unforgivable.
“They stayed a little back, a little off the front line”.
How insulting can you be?
The man should hang his head in eternal shame.
BREAKING: At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, even Elon Musk is poking fun at Donald Trump's ridiculous "Board of Peace".
“I heard about the formation of the Peace Summit (Board of Peace), and I was like ‘is that P-I-E-C-E?’ You know, a little piece of Greenland, a little piece of Venezuela. All we want is ‘piece’.”

It's very likely that Trump has ended up with a deal that he would almost certainly have been able to secure without all the drama and aggression. In which case, he has badly overplayed his hand and alienated longstanding and dependable allies for no reason. Doubtless his worshippers will see it as some great victory and start banging on about 'the art of the deal' and all that nonsense. In reality, their hero messed up big time.
