The terms: "iLobolo aliqedwa" or "uMakoti akaqedwa" are symbolic.

If the lobolo amount is set at R30,000 or R80,000... you must pay this full amount to the lady's family.

The terms merely mean that you should always be willing to contribute or assist your wife's family when you are asked to &if you are capable.

Those terms do not mean that you must not pay the full amount set at the lobolo negotiations.
