Watch Salafi presidential candidate Hazem Abu Ismail explain why Muslims shouldn't buy Pepsi. Words don't do justice: http://t.co/FY72xPRM

[Shadi Hamid @shadihamid]

Not just Islamists. A top #Egypt official - a "liberal" - insisted to me US had grand master plan to install both MB & Salafis in govt.

[Shadi Hamid @shadihamid]

It would be nice if #Egypt had a president who would make battling the culture of conspiracy theory one of his priorities.

@ns_mehdihasan Ed Miliband should go live in North Korea.

[SpiceMerchant @SpiceMerchantUK]

@sunny_hundal Unless we're trying to nationalise the system, like the Arab countries always have.

[SpiceMerchant @SpiceMerchantUK]

@sunny_hundal It's none of govt's business what people get paid in private sector.

2/2: ...Now Ed Milliband wants to strip bonus culture in private sector, starting with banks.

[SpiceMerchant @SpiceMerchantUK]

[SpiceMerchant @SpiceMerchantUK]

@MediocreDave Yes, certainly agree that it's not black and white, and doesn't map onto left or right exactly. Always the way.

[SpiceMerchant @SpiceMerchantUK]

@MediocreDave Perhaps. I tend to treat the economic aspect as more important. Will give it some more thought. Thanks for replying.
