North of the Kennet, south of the Thames. Keeping it local with music, history and architecture. Listening to and looking at all the good stuff.

Today might be a good time to tell you of my new blog Stone Diaries, detailing my thoughts during field trips to ancient sites.

Entries are being updated with details of myths and pubs for each site, so do join me on my travels 🙂

“The stones hath fallen a sacrifice to the wretched ignorance and avarice of a little village, unluckily plac'd within it.”

William Stukeley’s (1687-1765) observation on the destruction of Avebury, between 1719-1724.
