At this point in Marvel history, Spider-Man is so popular he's given a fourth title, although it ends up only replacing MTU instead, Web of Spider-Man vol.1 no.1 from April 1985, written by Louise Simonson with iconic painted cover art from Charles Vess, and in "Til Death Do Us Part!", we get a climactic showdown between Spider-Man & his living alien costume, with more detail & intricacies not seen in the previous two titles! The return of Spider-Man's alien black costume further establishes that the black suit is a living, malicious organism, as it actively tries to bond with Peter Parker against his will and reveals it does not trigger his spider-sense. Peter ends up ridding himself of the costume again using church bells and presumes the symbiote creature to have died afterwards, although we all know different! #webofspiderman

PPSSM vol.1 no.100 from March 1985, written by Al Milgrom with cover art also from Al Milgrom, and in "Breakin'!", Spidey & Black Cat each decide to go after Kingpin on their own, this leading Spider-Man to face off against the Spot on the rooftop, while Cat sneaks in through the air filtration system and confronts the big man herself! Spidey defeats the Spot, but unfortunately, Felicia learns Kingpin allowed her bad luck powers knowing they would eventually harm everyone she cares about. This upsets Black Cat who leaves just as Spider-Man arrives to take down Kingpin, but since the Kingpin isn't wanted for any crimes, Spidey is trespassing & is forced to retreat before the police arrive! Talking afterwards, Black Cat & Spider-Man decide to call it quits, and each head to their respective homes, Peter strips off his costume, hangs it up, & falls asleep as soon as he climbs into bed. As he sleeps, he is unaware of the alien symbiote entering his apartment & slinking into his closet! #spectacularspiderman

Spider-Man and the Black Cat confront the newly-minted villain, the Spot, in "Spider on the Spot!" from PPSSM vol.1 no.99 from Feb 1985, written by Al Milgrom with cover art also from Al Milgrom, while the alien symbiote costume makes its escape from captivity! While heading to confront the Kingpin, Spidey & Black Cat cross paths with the Spot, initially laughing at the villain's odd appearance, but the Spot uses his dimensional portals to dart around & land surprisingly long-distance punches on the pair! Spot overpowers a dazed Spider-Man by dragging him through a portal & slamming him into a wall, then gives them a warning to stay away from the Kingpin before escaping! #spectacularspiderman
