Arrest warrant issued for Kevin Reid

Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP is asking the public for assistance locating 38-year-old Kevin Robert Reid, who is the subject of an active arrest warrant and is currently evading police.

Reid is wanted in relation to a charge of theft.

⚠️ TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Whitbourne RCMP is warning drivers of weather-related hazardous road conditions on the Trans-Canada Highway between Whitbourne and Arnold’s Cove.

Motorists are being asked to slow down, use caution and avoid the highway, if possible. Continued freezing rain, water build-up and low visibility are causing dangerous road conditions in many areas.

Please take your time, drive according to the road and weather conditions and consider delaying travel until conditions improve.

UPDATE (October 23, 2026): A man who was reported missing to RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador in August 2025 has been located deceased.

On August 11, 2025, Clarenville RCMP issued a public request for assistance to locate a missing 37-year-old Caplin Cove man who was last seen on May 15, 2025.

This week, with the assistance of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador confirmed that a body found in the St. John’s area was that of the missing man.

Criminality is not believed to be a factor in his death at this time.

To respect the privacy of the man and his loved ones, his name and photos have been removed from the earlier post, and no additional details will be shared at this time.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador extends its deepest sympathies to the family, friends and community of the deceased.

Public advisory: RCMP conducting training exercises near Echo Pond Education Centre

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador will be conducting training exercises near the Echo Pond Environmental Education Center, in the area of Tower Road and Salmonier Line, on October 21 and 22, 2026.

Residents and travellers in the area will see an increased police presence during this time, including the RCMP Emergency Response Team, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Tactics and Rescue Unit, Police Dogs Services, aircraft including drones and a helicopter and police vehicles.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador is asking the public to avoid the area during this training scenario.

Regular training helps ensure readiness for duty when called upon. We thank the public in advance for their understanding.
