Late night rescue of a hedgehog trapped in a fence. The trauma caused ‘pop off’ where the muscles used to curl up are dislodged and the hedgehog is left helpless. Thankfully we managed to free it and get it much needed care. This is why Hedgehog Highways are so important.
After a very sad evening yesterday where we had to say goodbye to a beautiful boy because of strimmer injuries, the sight of these three tucking in tonight has made us smile 😊
No pics today, but we saw three healthy hedgehogs at our feeding station last night. Not all hedgehogs hibernate over winter so support feeding is essential. Good quality cat or kitten biscuits and fresh water every night. It’s so worth it to help these beautiful UK mammals 🦔
Lovely Deka was released back to where she was found in Bridgend yesterday.
Very poorly when she was admitted in November Deka was fighting fit when returned to the wild.
Thanks to Deka's wonderful finders who have gone above and beyond and helped with convalescence.
@HedgehogCabin Thank you 😊 Our growing love for all things Hedgehog means we are learning lots, but very much led by support and advice from our wonderful local rescue centre. Thanks for all the brilliant work you do!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
@HedgehogCabin@CarolaNutrition Thanks for tip, will look at that 👍Our wry busy local rescue centre nursed a poorly Hoglet we found in our garden back to health and asked us to look after her until she puts more weight on. She hit 600g today 🥳
@HedgehogCabin@CarolaNutrition Yes we think it’s from an Autumn litter. Pic taken couple days ago. We’re also currently boarding what we think is the sibling as they are the same size. Feeding Tesco kitten biscuits. We’re so glad it’s still coming for food as was very worried it wouldn’t survive hibernation
Deka inspecting her clean pen before we add her food bowls and put the lid on. A few minutes before, this was a carnage. Hedgehogs are adorable but filthy 😂🦔
Deka is now a whopping 570g and closing in on her 600g target. We’re so proud of this little thorn bush who was a very poorly baby when we found her 🦔❤️
