Wow, it was such an honour and privilege to attend the Trans Day of Visibility Opening Night Party 2024 on Sunday evening. I was blown away by the sheer level of talent, confidence and bravery from all the trans and non binary artists and performers. The jazz music was therapeutic and good for the soul. The alternative drag performances were also incredible, full of authenticity and meaning. These young performers are such a great inspiration to all and showcase the very best of our society, showing us the joy of being your authentic self. They also teach us not to let anyone steal our joy or creativity. 🎵 💃 🪩 🪅 🎉 🏳️⚧️
It was a thoroughly entertaining evening with a deeper message about the importance of celebrating trans joy and fighting the injustices that trans people and many other minority groups still face today due to the erosion of the social contract over the past decade or so and those in positions of power seeking to blame minority groups for rising inequality and their own failings. We must remind ourselves as a community, how far we have come in that time and that fairness, justice & equality will always prevail, as it has done throughout history. We thrive on love, kindness & acceptance while they thrive on hate, bigotry, fear and division.

This is so wrong. We need to be moving towards a more secular world rather than one which abides by largely bigoted deep held traditions from a book written many years ago. Yes some of the bible is relevant to today but only due to sheer coincidence. Religion holds society back.

The perfect news to wake up to on #TDOV2023 🎉 🎊 🪅 especially since he and his ilk who share the same ideology of intolerance are one of the worlds largest driving forces of transphobia and general intolerance. This is a huge step in the right direction! #karma
