D-Day: A Momentous Day Forgotten by Many
It's disheartening that every June 6th, the media fails to adequately highlight the profound importance of this day for the United States, Europe, and the world. Tragically, many young people today remain unaware of this historic event.

On June 6, 1944, we commemorate the Normandy Invasion, known as D-Day:
• The largest naval invasion in human history.
• Allied forces from the US, Britain, Canada, and other nations launched from Great Britain, crossed the English Channel, and stormed the beaches of Normandy, France.
• Nearly one million troops, 3,000 amphibious craft, 2,500 ships, 500 naval vessels, and 13,000 aircraft were mobilized to secure the Normandy beaches and establish a critical foothold in France and Europe.
• In this pivotal World War II battle, Nazi Germany’s heavily fortified defenses—bristling with weapons, bunkers, and mines—inflicted devastating losses. Thousands of sailors, marines, soldiers, paratroopers, and airmen perished in the initial hours and days. Yet, their sacrifice cracked open the door, enabling Allied forces to push forward, liberate Europe, and ultimately defeat Nazi Germany.
• This day holds immense significance for the world, and we owe an unpayable debt to those who fought and died in this monumental battle.

Let’s pause for a moment to reflect on the events of 82 years ago and honor the sacrifices made. Hooah!
