@mcuban Don’t people know by now that his version of populism is nonsense, it’s literally just sound bites that don’t need to have a sensible plan behind them because his voters don’t think beyond the initial statement. He’s a Charlatan
@FavianRenkel We already know that MLS won’t let teams get promoted into the league so it’s not a stretch that they won’t let certain teams beat other certain teams within the league. After all it is a closed system innit?
@AlexiLalas The worst part is nearly 100% of those kids that play club exclusively, don’t go on to do anything in the sport, because the clubs aren’t any better than HS at actually developing talent. They are also focused only on winning. So why not just play HS? More fans, more fun
@bwfast@MLS I’d rather see it in college football/basketball or other healthier American sports. MLS has decent fan bases and it would be misguided to risk losing that at this point. I’m not convinced an MLS promotion in one city would be a net gain of fans compared to the loss of relegated
@TaylorTwellman US players are overrated. Pulisic is the only unique talent with value in Europe the rest are avg players who can all be easily replaced by European African or South American guys. Only reason they’re over there is because there’s 200 clubs and more money in the game now
@johnkonrad We spend enough money on the military my guy. If they misuse the money that’s on them. We need our tax dollars for things here in the country.
@IanDarke Poch did well with Southampton and the US is a Southampton level squad. Even the best manager in the world will get mid-level results with this group of boys. At best he reduces the naivety level of this team, however I’m afraid the players are too naive to be saved at this pt
@ByDavidMurphy Seems pro family to me. Keep in mind folks it’s our money coming back to us. Think of how much we waste on military contractors for unnecessary new weapons. This is how tax dollars should be spent, on the people.
@MilanNaples@sjeq74@TaylorTwellman You’re being too specific. He’s a great coach full stop. It ain’t brain surgery to figure out international tournaments. Every game is basically a knockout or version of a final. He’s so good at coaching teams in this format, look at his UCL run with spurs and name a better one
@HatTrickChris Name the manager that did win the UCL with those three. Also, Poch is the best available option for the US by a margin of about 100x. Klopp turned it down and he was the only name thrown around that would’ve been better. This is a massive coup for US soccer
@MilanNaples@sjeq74@TaylorTwellman They are comparable in that the amount of games that feel like finals are way higher than league format. Also, he’s way more experienced than Henry and it’s not even close.
@MilanNaples@TaylorTwellman Spurs to the champions league final is tournament experience and better than anyone else being mentioned for the job. This is a home run, because he instills toughness physical and mental which this team desperately lacks.
@TaylorTwellman Actually you could argue the smaller the club the better he’s done. If rhe US players were all on a club team they’d be about like Southampton. I think it’s a great hire
