It’s been difficult to get to Kent games this summer due to work (welcome to the real world), but to make it to Worcester for that remarkable semi-final win, and to see Canterbury come alive last night, is something I’ll always be grateful for. #WeAreKent
Quite a promising start to the match has given way to a spectacular subsidence. If we can barely survive 20 overs in the 4th innings I’m not sure we can survive in this division at all… #WeAreKent
📝 Arshdeep Singh makes his final Kent appearance.
Tawanda Muyeye has failed a fitness test this morning - Toby Albert will open the batting with Ben Compton, with Ben Geddes also making his Kent debut.
Alex Blake makes his first Championship appearance since 2019
Kent nailed it in a must-win game 💥
Set things up on day one with a great bowling performance, Muyeye and DBD hammered the advantage home, and Denly wheeled away for a day to seal it! Well played Kent.
Following the social media feeds is quite amusing. A nice video clip (“great shot by so and so”) followed by a sudden “but we’re all out for 95” a moment later.
Kent are no strangers to a bad day at the office, but 95 all out plays 89/0 — with a session washed out in the middle — is surely up there amongst the very worst we’ve seen.
We all knew this day would come, but it doesn’t make it any easier. A phenomenal servant to the county and someone who has given us all wonderful memories in that Kent shirt. All the best Stevo.
Another golden memory was that match-winning double hundred against Lancashire in 2014, with a potential career-ending ban heading his way. Stevo has done more in the eight years since that than many manage in an entire career.
End of an era. Many a happy day in Canterbury watching
@Stevo208 spray it to all corners. That double century v Lancs in 2013 when it may have been his last game, a 44-ball ton v Sussex and generally just being a decent bloke. Hell of a player
There was no chance I’d miss Kent’s solitary outground visit of the season… Woolpit Cricket Club are fine hosts for this NCCA Showcase Game between Suffolk and Kent.
Suffolk’s batting had the enterprise but lacked the explosion, so Kent end up comfortable winners by the sizeable margin of 140 runs. Great to see so many enjoying a day at the cricket in this corner of England.
