@JoeyAmpersand@KingTalon23@d1rte4ter@retrollel3 non-consenting artists' training data isn't inherently part of generative AI, and it shouldn't be used in the definition like you're doing here.
What they made isn't an algorithm. It is not code. It doesn't take an input and make a predictable output. It is gen AI.
@ListenUpNBA@DKrunks@notnickok I'm not bitching; I'm simply not accepting a false categorization of what a technology is. and besides, the guy I was replying to is just a brick wall, apparently.
@ListenUpNBA@DKrunks@notnickok i couldn't care less about generative ai. even if it's used in content i consume, it wouldn't make me less inclined to consume it given that it's not low quality
i don't get what you're on about
@unknowngxdj@UnbecomingName i really couldn't care less if they used even actual generative ai in the movie. i'm just pointing out that i think the OP is wrong.
you're more insufferable than me for just being hostile for no reason on twitter
@Breadderry@EnrgyDrinksOnly@UnbecomingName partially true. the model, especially early on, often guessed the position of the lines wrong. if it were truly simply based on the 3d model, it wouldn't be able to do that.
the artists had to correct it (a form of RL) in order to get good results.
@EnrgyDrinksOnly@UnbecomingName that's not what i'm talking about. the strokes the computer generates are meant to do the job of helping expression, a creative aspect that was originally done by the human effects team but deemed "tedious." So they made the ML model do it.
@EiratheIntern why is the community note just blatantly wrong lmfao??? ML is a type of generative AI; they used their own data set to create a model that could produce those drawings without hard-coded rules
@dasolarts because your take is very out of touch with how the roblox platform works as of recent times
i dont really care to argue about your opinion, but 90% of the front page is heavily ai-assisted. They use it to pump out games for monetization purposes. They don't care.
@Midnight_Krys yeah, i mean i respect your opinion. i'm just concerned about the cost of adding it for a group of people that isn't even defined.
if it's actually substantial unlike my guess, then perhaps it would be worth it. but some observations lean towards it being smaller than preferred
@Midnight_Krys I'm just using the dev servers as anecdotal evidence to suggest a ratio when otherwise there's little to go off of.
For the group of people who do care (likely teens/adults) you could argue that they have a better intuition for detecting AI anyways without the label.
@Midnight_Krys well I'm not really assuming any ratios. it's just the facts: most developers of the front page actively disclose ai usage in these dev servers. if people don't know, I feel it's kind of on them; if they cared enough to want to know, quick research would give them their answer.
@Midnight_Krys i'm saying that an AI label isn't going to do much, especially for the effort that roblox wld need to put in. The majority of players go on the front page and just play what's there. If it's all AI anyway, why put the label just to appeal to a low percentage of their playerbase?
@Midnight_Krys I get the want for data, but all you have to do is look at the front page. there are servers of devs that me and my friend are in; most front page games are either entirely vibe-coded, or heavily assisted. It's not some thing that isn't obvious.
@Midnight_Krys It requires more effort than roblox is already willing to give (just look at their customer support). It's such a small minority that you're trying to cater to in terms of game devs that it's hard to justify it in the slightest.
