@CoachBreeze_ Iโd be willing to bet that a lot of people in here probably never watched him in his prime, & only know about the locker room gun incident because it made national headlines.
Framing it this way comes off so insecure.
You really donโt need to tear one player down in order to build the other one up. Theyโre both great.
& to make matters worse, AJ is YOUR OWN homegrown talent ๐

I have been wondering why the Wizards are so locked in on AJ at number 1 but I think their GM spoiled it. ๐ซข
Dybantsa has "franchise face" energy. He literally told scouts "I'm exciting and I fill seats."
Meanwhile DP is calling himself an anti-social loner.
For the Wizards rebuilding their brand? They want the person...
For the Jazz rebuilding their ROSTER? They want the player...
Utah's getting the right fit AND the better player. #2 isn't a consolation prize.
@BigDapp_ Yea, but you know what I mean. Heโs โtheirโ guy. They were on a campaign trail, riding his coattails the whole season prior to the lottery lol
Just having some fun identifying more original player comparisons for lottery prospects, since draft time is a little boring. Also listing a couple concerns the Wizards FO could / should raise regarding the T3 prospects.

@malharden AJ is my pick as well.
Havenโt wavered since we won the lottery. But Iโm still perfectly fine with picking DP, if the FO decides heโs BPA.
Hereโs where Iโm at with the Wizardsโ draft strategy:
โข Stick and pick at No. 1 โ take the best player available and start your contention period.
โข Iโm fine with either AJ Dybantsa or Darryn Peterson โ both are tremendous offensive talents with All-NBA upside.
