my tutorial idea I spoke about in my first impressions vid is getting a lot of love in the comments, so sharing here also for @MarathonDevTeam
I think the tutorial should be totally redone and should instead give you purple and gold loot to play with at first
this would instantly solve the "this game feels bad to play" feedback we see from a ton of new players; they just don't know how good the game COULD feel so they think marathon is entirely slow, sluggish, etc, which just isn't true. it's just that it STARTS that way
then at the end of the tutorial, you should have to do an exfil, but it should kill you through a scripted event so you are introduced to "death being the first step" and you then understand that the goal is to get that carrot on stick and fight from zero
I think the player onramp into this game is one of its biggest problem areas right now - sooooo many people say they thought it was ass at first but then at the 10 hour mark it clicks - and you can't expect people to just keep trying the game until they eventually like it, they'll bounce off way sooner. i think this would help solve for that.
thoughts? more details on the idea in my vid if you're curious
Halo MCC moving to GamePass Premium is such a disgusting move. This franchise fuckin’ built Xbox Live, and now you can’t even access it with GamePass Core. Yikes.
Just be honest with yourselves and your fans. It’s been YOU that needs a Battle Royale in these games for years now. Don’t throw shade at Halo, or at Battlefield, simply because you aren’t entertaining enough outside of a Battle Royale.
I still find it amusing that people will say Halo Infinite failed because it didn’t have a BR at launch.
This is laughably false.
Halo Infinite failed at launch because 343 was an inept company that clearly misallocated development power and funds in their games.
It’s definitely rich, coming from Warzone players, whose franchise is burning alive right now after siphoning development resources from other modes into the BR, hearing about how it won’t affect the rest of the game, it won’t detract from the player base, it’s a no-brainer…
@MrRoflWaffles I’ve only seen the clip from this year, I haven’t watched the full CoD NEXT stream, but this is just so damn sad man. I miss Jason Blundell and the way he always put the community first. He helped build a massive player base and it feels like his legacy is just being spit on.
@IsThatMaple Very disingenuous and bad faith argument imo. Being upset for a creator that doesn't just assume the best based on a vague blog-post, or says what their audience wants to hear, is really childish. Pretty sure Milo just wanted his chat to use their 2nd grade comprehension skills.
@MrRoflWaffles Tone changed. I can’t believe they actually listened and are giving OG players some content they’ll enjoy. @Treyarch, I take back what I’ve said about the game and its marketing, and I’m looking forward to an entire year of you proving me wrong. Thank you.
@MrRoflWaffles I’m finishing your latest videos and just from the portion we’ve seen, this already gives me hope for better writing this year.
If they come out next week and tell us “Round Based” is going to have its own “Classic Mode” I think I’ll be changing my tune about the game.
Here, I'll even give you a freebie. Release a standalone video game called "Call of Duty Warzone" where that's the only fucking thing on the disc and Warzone players can have a hayday. Then you go back to releasing actual CoD games for a consumer base over the age of 9.
I just went back and watched @MrRoflWaffles video on his experience playing the game early and attending a large meeting. And from what he's said, and everything Treyarch have changed in these last few weeks, we're going to be seeing Black Ops 6 2, where the cosmetics don't carry
Instead of actually creating three distinct pillars of Call of Duty, there's now one pillar, and three leech modes that just suckle from the pre-existing assets and mechanics that HAVE to be present for Warzone, because god forbid we come up with a new idea.
