@FIamedKing Hughes closed the door behind him before walking to the desk, standing at attention.

“What do you need, sir?”

@FIamedKing “Right, I’m on my way.”

The general hung up and made his way to the office, knocking once before entering.

“Edward sure has grown over the years, but the occasional pair of platform boots for Christmas isn’t such a bad gift, is it?”

He's just remembering the time he acknowledged his height issues and had the exact same reaction; It was him after all. Well--past him. He still made fusses about height comments but not to the comically extreme anymore.

“Elicia’s costume idea for me this year is a little... odd, but I can’t ignore the request and artistry of my precious baby girl!!”

And so General Hughes arrived at work dressed up as a haunted phone booth with pale and bloody make-up and all.

“I sure did. Nothing like a fresh stack of paperwork to start my day.”

“Why does today feel so slow? I honestly wouldn’t mind having paperwork stacked on my desk right now.”

“Try seven to eight hours…”

“... Does four hours count as a full sleep?”

“A nap would do you good, but maybe try a full night of sleep for a change?”

“Nah. It's fine. Just been slacking off, lately.”

He stifles a yawn.

“Might take a nap, though.”

He hasn't had a vacation, yet.
