@brightboxgames@OldRoberts953 Literally anyone/everyone. A meritocracy - equality of opportunity - is the only thing that can work for human society. “Equity” (of outcome) sounds almost the exact same but is the precise opposite & only ever leads to despair, ruin, and starvation. Ask Stalin, Mao, et al.
Universities do not exist to promote "marginalized voices." They do not exist to promulgate social engineering experiments. They do not exist to engage in social justice activism. A university exists to expand the boundaries of human knowledge, to defend truth, and to create an ecosystem for intellectual enrichment. Once a university optimizes the wrong variables, we end up with the parasitized minds that we now see populating academia, business, politics, journalism, culture, etc. The West in general and the US in particular were founded on a set of key ideals that are unique to human history. Do not presume that these ideals are the default reality. There is always a tsunami of miscreants who are working day and night to end our liberties and freedoms, and destroy these ideals. Be vigilant. Fight for our civilization. Activate your inner honey badger.
@JohnHolbein1 Why is there not more love for Stockton from the experts? Untouchable records in 2 of the 5 main stats. Nash’s back to back MVP years? Stockton did that 4+ years in a row. Maybe the most underrated player in history. (Charisma-related?)
Too many of you get caught in the trap of calling out commie "hypocrisy!" Read Orwell. You need to understand that the communist will frequently invert the party line from one day to the next, on purpose. The point is to test you. They want to know that you trust the state more than your own 2 eyes.
Remember in 1984: "we are now at war with EastAsia, we were ALWAYS at war with EastAsia"...then the next day it's completely inverted. It's not hypocrisy. It's deliberate. They want to see who balks at the obvious inversion of reality. If you scratch your head, you've just given yourself away...you're more invested in reality than the Party. So you will get the bullet.
It's not hypocrisy. It's hierarchy. Don't bother trying to shame them for their contradictions...that's all deliberate. This is why the modern woke communist pushes the most absurd nonsense. "The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."
They're not hypocrites. They're communists. And that's sooooo much worse.
I needed to move a sofa.
I mentioned this to an American. He said, "You know anybody with a truck?"
I did not know anybody with a truck.
He looked at me with real concern. Not pity. Concern. The way you look at a man who has told you he does not have a name.
"You gotta know somebody with a truck."
I asked how one acquires such a person.
He said, "You just do."
This is the third time I have received that answer in this country. It is the answer to everything here. You just do. There is no process. There is only the eventual fact of having.
He said, "Ask Kevin."
I do not know a Kevin. He said Kevin like I should. He said it the way you say a shared uncle.
I met Kevin four days later. Kevin owns a truck. Kevin does not own a truck for himself. Nobody owns a truck for themselves. Kevin owns a truck for a fifteen mile radius.
Inside I said: THIS MAN HAS TAKEN A VOW. HE DID NOT ANNOUNCE IT. HE SIMPLY PURCHASED A BED AND ACCEPTED THE CONSEQUENCES.
Kevin arrived on Saturday. He brought the truck. He also brought a second man.
I had not asked for a second man.
The second man's name is Tony. Tony came because Kevin came. Tony did not know me. Tony did not ask what we were moving. Tony brought gloves.
They moved the sofa in eleven minutes.
I offered them money. Both of them laughed at the same time, which felt rehearsed and was not.
I asked what I owed them.
Kevin said, "Buy the pizza."
That is the price. That is the entire economy. The truck costs one pizza and the pizza is not negotiable and the pizza is also not expensive and everyone knows what size.
Inside I said: THE FEE IS FIXED ACROSS THE ENTIRE NATION AND WAS SET BY NO ONE.
We ate on the floor because the sofa was against the wall and none of us wanted to be the first to sit on it.
Tony told me his daughter plays soccer. I asked if she is good. He said, "She's aggressive."
I still think about that.
Three weeks later, Kevin texted me.
"You free Sunday? Helping Tony move a fridge."
He did not ask if I wanted to. He informed me of a fridge.
Inside I said: I HAVE BEEN CALLED UP. I DID NOT ENLIST. THE PAPERS WERE FILED ON MY BEHALF.
I went. I moved the fridge. I have no truck. I contributed only arms.
Afterward, a man I had never met asked me if I knew anybody with a truck.
I said, "Yeah, I got a guy."
I have a guy.
I am somebody's guy now, too. Tony has told two people about me.
He describes me as "the guy who's strong for his size."
I have never been prouder of a sentence in my life.
Things Democrats support requiring ID for:
- NYC city-run grocery stores
- Democrat campaign rallies
- recycling in CT
- shoveling snow in NYC
- Democrat candidate meet & greets
Things Democrats don’t support ID for:
Voting.
A date with my daughter last night.
Nothing in the world beats children.
Nothing even compares.
I have had a pretty decent career. I have had my share of adventures. I have been dealing with some pretty interesting stuff…
Seen beautiful places.
But nothing in life compares to children.
So if you are forgoing children, you are missing out on life.
That is the message. That’s it.
Racist Commie Mamdani is going to make you show ID in his markets. You want your government-subsidized arugula? Show your papers! Ask for ID to vote? BIGOT!!!
Are you starting to realize what disingenuous lying buffoons these commies are?
This is a superficial and ultimately destructive way of framing the problem.
Women deal with the profound biological burden of reproduction: menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. That is real, costly, and non-negotiable. No serious person denies it.
But the complementary burden that has fallen on men for the entire history of our species is equally non-negotiable and far more lethal.
Men have been the ones who die in war — by the tens of millions. Conscription, combat, and the obligation to stand between the tribe and existential threat have been almost exclusively male responsibilities.
Men occupy the overwhelming majority of the most dangerous occupations on the planet: commercial fishing, logging, mining, roofing, heavy construction, oil-rig work, long-haul trucking. The workplace fatality statistics are not subtle. Year after year, 90–95 % of occupational deaths are male.
Men also take more physical and psychological risks. That is why they invent more, explore more, and die younger — from accidents, from violence, from suicide. The male suicide rate is not a minor footnote; it is a catastrophic and chronic reality.
These are not interchangeable complaints. They are complementary sacrifices. One sex carries the primary cost of creating new life. The other sex carries the primary cost of protecting that life and extracting the resources necessary to sustain it from a dangerous and indifferent world.
To reduce the entire male side of this ancient division of labour to “what do men deal with?” as if the answer were “nothing of consequence” is not compassion. It is a deliberate refusal to look at the hierarchical and sacrificial structure of reality itself.
The proper response is not grievance. It is gratitude for the complementary burdens that have kept the species alive, and the individual responsibility to carry one’s own share of them without self-pity.
@FantasyGenius4U This is the “mebounds” of dribbling. There were technically three different “dribbles” here, so I think she gets two assists for this.
