The Difference Between ARGENTINA AND PORTUGAL.

1. TROPHIES
° Argentina 🤝Lionel Messi:
Lionel Messi when these national trophies weren't coming in, had his doubts and announced retirement a couple of times as a result of frustration, but the squad and AFA never attacked, blamed or do anything to undermine his contributions despite lack of glories. Instead they persuaded and rallied behind him and became his strength and motivation.
NOTE: before Messi, Argentina won 18 trophies, with Leo they've won 4, making it 22.

° Portugal 🤝 CR7:
CR7 have been with the Portuguese team since 2003 when he made his debut as a 18 yo till date. Before him, Portugal national shirts were donned by the likes of giants as Eusebo, Figo, Deco, and other talented footballers, but won no national trophies. Then CR7 came in and not only won Portugal 3 national honors, made sure they qualified for every major tournament in his illustrious national team career.

2. TEAMMATES ATTITUDE
° Argentina 🤝Lionel Messi:
His teammates (none) had no contempt nor made any statement that would even give the media the opportunity to twist the context. They are always respectful towards Leo Messi.

° Portugal 🤝 CR7:
CR7 teammates have always been allegedly pushed by media for disrespecting him through their comments, press statements, gestures during matches and trainings, reactions to social media negative posts about Cristiano.

3. TEAM PLAY STRUCTURE
° Argentina 🤝Lionel Messi:
The national team play plan is structured to suit Leo, with considerations regarding his age as he gets older, knowing there are things he did before that can't be done anymore. Teamplay is Messi centered.

° Portugal 🤝 CR7:
There's always a media narratives that CR7 slows down the team tempo, drags down the team, he's too old. Shouldn't be called up anymore, with some coaches calling him up and limiting his playing minutes, and even benched him, made him scapegoat whenever things go bad. Media labels Him selfish.

4. NATIONAL TEAM PLAY POLICY

Teammates neglects him on pitch even when he's always running, opening up spaces for himself and teammates. They rather play backpasses than find Cris when he makes those runs for goals that makes him the prolific goals poacher that he is. Then something goes wrong (lose or draw), dump the blames on Cristiano.

5. NATIONAL RESPECT/RATING
° Argentina 🤝Lionel Messi:
AFA decides that no other player wear the no. 10 jersey until Messi retires.

° Portugal 🤝 CR7:
CR7 left camp over dispute, his iconic no.7 shirt got reassigned to another squad member, a couple of days after his departure from team camp.

°BONUS:
Nobody in Messi's town is allowed to be named Messi.
That's recognition of sacrifice made.
