.@Rachel__Nichols says @KingJames to @sixers is good for the @NBA's bottom line.
She says having him on the East Coast playing in 7pm Eastern time game will mean higher ratings across the country.
Nichols says being on Philadelphia is renewing James' sense of purpose: playing for a title.

I can't help but think that this was also a piece of the puzzle.
Rich Paul knew the Sixers were well equipped to tell the story of LeBron's final chapter.
The 12 cities with at least one team in each of the four major sports leagues, and whether they made the playoffs or not in their most recently completed seasons.
Embiid has a 6-2 record vs Jokic in head-to-head matchups.

Completely owns him 😂🔥🔥🔥
A wrinkle that really excites me about LeBron to Philadelphia:
It’s pretty clear that he’s treating these 2 seasons as a dead serious business trip.
A business trip where family nor money plays any part.
A business trip where winning, above all else, is the only desired outcome.
That’s absolutely electric.
"The [Jaylen] Brown move really kind of changed how [LeBron and Rich Paul] viewed Philadelphia."
@NotoriousOHM on why LeBron chose to sign with the 76ers ✍️
Minimum deal for KCP, as expected. His cap hit will be about $2.45 million. Sixers have to shed two salaries. Dalen Terry’s non-guaranteed salary feels extremely vulnerable. Obvious options for a second casualty: waive Jabari Walker ($250K guaranteed) or salary dump Johni Broome.

Just in: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has agreed to a buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies and plans to sign a one-year, $3.9 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers after clearing waivers, sources tell ESPN. The two-time NBA champion with the Lakers and Nuggets, who was part of 2020 title along with LeBron James, gives the 76ers a wing shooter and defender.
A month ago, LeBron James and Joel Embiid met privately in Los Angeles for nearly two hours.
LeBron asked Embiid directly about his health heading into the offseason and whether this would be another injury-plagued year. Embiid told him it was the first summer of his career without any surgeries and that he was fully healthy and locked in. That conversation stayed with LeBron.
Weeks later, Sixers GM Mike Gansey publicly confirmed Embiid’s status during a press conference:
“He has been putting in the work, up 15lbs of pure muscle. Now he’s around 295lbs but 13% body fat. We’re hoping it helps him stay healthy and dominate once again in the paint. He will take it up another level.”
Gansey also noted it was the first offseason Embiid was truly healthy going into it and that he was in a “really good space.”
Once Embiid’s health checked out, the combination of Embiid, Maxey, Jaylen Brown, and Edgecombe became the clearest option for a final championship run.
