@LadyDetectives1 Im pretty sure it's your daughters school that have chosen to enforce this. It has nothing to do with the government.

Have you spoken to your school about the circumstances?

It is them you should be directing your frustration at.

@BladeoftheS Rubbish. I am a colleague and upped my hours during wifes maternity period to 30 hours.

I have since tried reducing as I start another job but 16 hours is the minimum available.

Where does claim come from? I know no one in my Superstore that works those hours!

I suggested already, if times & circumstances mean for it then fair enough but as a norm I dont feel its to the child's advantage. Talking & sharing stories is bonding time for us.

@BenWingrovee @writerChris @KirstieMAllsopp What I would say is, if it's a one off and circumstances have led to the touch screen coming out for a reason then fair enough, although should be a last resort if being used for a coping mechanism. If it's the norm though because it's easy parenting then imo that's not great.

@BenWingrovee @writerChris @KirstieMAllsopp My 4 year old does have a touch screen. She can use it mostly when she wants too although not during food times and not before bed. However, she probably only spends an hour or 2 each week on it. She loves drawing & arts n crafts, she makes her own games up as very imaginative.

We've a 4 year & 8 mth old. Screen time at meal times is a no. We chuckle with them, talk about things we can see & what we have done. We cherish every moment of interaction.

Larchwood will always hold a place in my heart and it was special saying good bye to the year 6 pupils too as they move on.
