As a youth coach, you should have two goals every time you’re coaching your team:

1) Help kids learn life lessons through sport. Teach them something each day that’ll be beneficial throughout their life.

2) Make the experience so enjoyable the kids can’t wait to play next year!

Playing sports should be fun & competitive at the same time. At the amateur level, that doesn’t mean winning at all costs... it means teaching kids how to compete hard and work as a team so they know how to EARN what they want. All skills that translate to the real game... LIFE!

Motor learning; We really need to stop telling patients how to move. It doesn’t do them any good & mostly interferes with their process. Change something in the task or enviromnt to nudge them to change if you think they need to.
