Founded in 1898 as The Football Echo, The Sports Pink provided weekly coverage of sport at all levels across Hampshire until December 9th 2017 #RIPSportsPink 😢
After nearly 30 years, Wendy Gee has left the @dailyecho. She would like to thank everyone who has helped her and wishes the local non-league community all the best for the future
@SportsPink Sad to see the Sports Pink go. A south coast staple. Interviewing Marian Pahars for its front page felt brilliant when I starting in journalism. RIP
@SportsPink @TonyHusbandBBC loved getting the pink! Always used to check the tyro league results when I was at school. Good to read all the local non league teams from the Wessex and southern leagues.
@SportsPink Sad to see @SportsPink go. Still got this pic of my Dad (bottom row, second from left) from the 1980s special a few years ago.
We'd always stop for petrol and a copy of the Pink on the way home from watching Dad play on a Saturday when when I was a kid #RIPSportsPink
Some great memories over the years from when I was a player to now being a manager.Great coverage on local non league football with insightful interviews and knowledgeable reporters.A sad day https://t.co/DGIywycXWA
@SportsPink@EastleighFC@AFCTotton@sholingfc @TeamSolentFC @HambleClubFC @PooleTownFC@RT6thFormSport@hantscl Sure the pink had its own fantasy football game around mid 90s when you picked a teams defence and another teams keeper and 5 outfield players and if your forwards scored more than your defence conceded you got 3 points. Anyone?
