Douchebags are going to win a baseball natty and Josh’s jock riders tell us to be happy with making regionals.
The goddamned loser mentality that runs this place is infuriating.

#okstate leadership & donor base is lazy, reactive, and without vision at all levels. Josh Holliday is coasting, but the roster article is another indicator that the people in charge have no ambition or understanding of what’s happening. #gopokes#goingnowherefast
Finally, as I said last year: God bless Ruby Meylan. Absolute warrior. Put this team on her back for two years.
This senior class will be missed, & the leadership void has to be filled. Very interested to see who does that, b/c it will affect everything. /End

I want Kenny to push for great. This program has the most WCWS without a natty. We need to get off that list and onto the champions one. Status quo won’t get there. /16
#okstate#gopokes
We need some upgrades. I’m not sure how much they’ll pursue the portal. I’m not sure good pitchers will want to take a chance on Eberle’s track record. I’m not sure we have enough big bats. It’s a good team, but needs help to be a great, OKC-level one. /15
#okstate#gopokes
The season righted the ship a bit, but there are a lot of question marks for next year. With the atmosphere we seem to promote, I’m worried about how critically the program will be examined. /14

It lingers in my mind that the Eberle hire might have cost us a natty in ‘24 by forcing the Maxwell transfer. I have seen little to boost my confidence.
If there’s a change to be made, this is the one. But I still don’t think Kenny will do it. /13

And then Eberle.
Carrie can help an ace refine what they do. We’ve seen that with Kilfoyl and Meylan. But she has shown nothing with regard to helping downstaff pitchers. Crandall got way worse here. /12

Coaching is what it is.
Shippy got the hitters working better in the second half of the season, but they flopped when it counted.
I’m still not sure what Bergeron does. I don’t see a lot of difference in how individuals play defense. /11
#okstate#gopokes
Freshman class has four infielders and two pitchers. Don’t know what we get from any of them, and don’t know if any will be able to get playing time. Right now, can’t say that any of them will be of help. /10
#okstate#gopokes
Then there’s pitching. I don’t know hat we have with Makala Smith and debuting at the Super seems like a move to say she played for us at least once and is recovered before leaving. Downing is a midweek pitcher. This is a scary deficiency. /9
#okstate#gopokes
Then there are the other spot players: Booker, Jaques, Henderson. Henderson may be in line to take over DP, but do the others hang around? I’d be surprised to see Elle McCloskey back after not playing all spring, and any of these could easily leave. /8

If the plan is to convert Hoffman into the right fielder, that could get adventurous. And what does her bat become now that there’s a scout? Can she keep hitting at a high level, or is she the next Godwin? /7
#okstate#gopokes
Then you add a brand-new catcher, likely Gabby Castillo. Who knows what you get here?
Then there’s the outfield. Warsop and Austin are likely locked in, and both present similar attributes. /6
#okstate#gopokes
Rosie Davis is serviceable at third and probably the most consistent hitter, but still has things to work on. This group can get it done on defense, but is overall very average offensively. That’s not good. /5
#okstate#gopokes
Start in the infield. Godwin will go back to first, but will she ever become the hitter she teased her freshman year? Jayden Jones at second is the right call defensively, but she’s a hole in the lineup. Aubrey Jones is a solid SS but needs plate discipline. /4
#okstate#gopokes
This team has weaknesses that may not be addressed properly, and that scares me. Lots of returners to be locked into starting positions, glaring holes that may not be filled. This can backslide very easily. /3
#okstate#gopokes
Much better than the collapse at Arkansas last year. There’s some good feeling again. But now comes the hard part, and this is the part that makes me very nervous about next year. /2
