The scoreline doesn't tell you the whole story, cause I've never seen a team dominate PSG in a second half the way we did tonight, and I'm so proud of the boys for standing up with balls and attacking them relentlessly. Big chances missed, touches in their box, chances created, xG. All we did was 1) press them aggressively 2) bring Bouaddi on to keep the ball 3) bring Ndiaye on to destabilise them 4) win our duels 5) cover ground quicker in transitions. I'm taking lessons, particularly on the technical level of this game, where PSG were better in the first half. We're not that far off. We'll be there soon. Proud of the boys. @ManCity. 👏🩵
Iliman Ndiaye on Enzo Maresca's full-time message vs PSG: "I feel he was proud of the way we reacted [after half-time]. He wanted us to attack, be braver, take chances, try and win! Unfortunately it wasn't enough, but take that second-half performance and I feel like we just go and win any game!" [via @footballontnt]
Cherki must release the ball quicker against PSG's high press. Enzo has been poor and should be replaced by Bouaddi. Blaming Khusanov is unfair; it was a logical defensive decision. The champions outplayed us, but it's a good lesson for the team.
CTID 🩵. Keep supporting.
Interesting times at @ManCity who have almost no debt, have poured hundreds of millions into regenerating their local area and have the best youth system in the country so they must be punished by the PL.
@ManUtd sacked half their employees , racked up a £1 billion + debt , funnelled their profits to the Cayman Islands and get to set the PL spending rules.
Funny old game as Greavsie used to say.
🚨🇸🇪 Zlatan Ibrahimović on Premier League clubs celebrating Manchester City’s 115 charges:
🗣️ Zlatan: “I don’t blame them for celebrating these charges. (laughs) We are talking about a club that has traumatized almost every other club in this league for years. Pep came to the Premier League hearing everyone say it’s the most difficult league in the world, then he came and farmed the league like it was a Division Two league.
“He exposed them. He dominated them for years. So if they can’t win against Manchester City on the pitch, I understand why they are celebrating what is happening off it.
“But now they talk as if these charges were the reason Manchester City dominated. Like that was the main tactic City came with onto the pitch. Forgetting the beautiful football they played, how they controlled games and how they actually won those trophies.
“You can celebrate the charges, you can talk about them, you can wait for the verdict. But don’t rewrite football history. Manchester City dominated on the pitch. That is why they won all those trophies.”
Remember what we did in 2023 when this first came out. The charges landed, the world lined up to bury us, and Pep sat in front of the cameras and said, “I'm not moving from this seat.” One sentence. And it gave those boys every ounce of confidence they needed to go out and win the Treble.
That's what we need now. Back the boys like never before. Back Maresca. Back every single person leading this club. No panic, no division, no turning on each other when the noise gets loud. This is the moment to close ranks.
Time to unite. Time to stand for this badge, regardless of what comes. Because we are Manchester City Football Club, and we will be till we die. 🩵
