Moreover, this also downgrades the importance of regular season. The play-in tournaments negates a lot. A team fights all season long & battles game after game to earn a playoff spot. Now they will have to play an additional game against a lower seed which doesn't seem to be fair

Though these play-in tournament games would make the league more competitive and is a good idea to earn some money this year during Covid-19. But the downside could be the additional stress and injury risk.
