Try watching it on a spanish TV (try Telemundo) with English close captioning. Spanish announcers treat every play with a Mike Emrick-like enthusiasm.

@JWPatarino They run the 10sec in-game split screens or screen banners during the action. In Spanish TV, the announcers read off the 10sec spots with a product banner inbedded during the action. It’s similar to when announcers read in-game promos for the network shows for any pro leagues.

@LAKingsCrowned IMO, no. But it’s the samew/Ceci. If Ceci was making $2M AAV or had a lower term, then whatever he gives you at 3RD you can live with. He replaced much better and cheaper right D in Spence and that’s the negative.

@KingsMenPodcast The issue is the market. This is LA, discretionary $$ flow to relevant teams. There has been 7 chips since 2020, none by LAK, and team will be pushed down w/o success. See Clippers, Angels, Ducks, Chargers. True fans know a rebuild is needed, but AEG can’t have a 1/2 empty arena.

@Papa_P38 If I was KH, I’d ask for RNH as part of a Nurse deal. Unclear what would go the other way, but you address two problems at once with manageable cap hits.

@AStanovich68 If DD extension demands are north of $5-6M AAV, then that should be a consideration. DD gets to play for a contender as long as 97 is there while LAK get “younger” on the blue line.

@AStanovich68 But that means a DD/Nurse pairing. We know DD will only play with Anderson. KH can pounce and ask for RNH as part of a bigger deal. I’d propose DD/Nurse straight up. It removes the roadblock for Clarke and he may be more willing to take a bridge contract, knowing he’s RD1.

@Papa_P38 It makes sense if Doughty goes the other way. If not then any of 2/5/6 just reduces the cap available for EP40, Larkin, or Matthews, which they can’t get. If keeping cap open for Laughton is the issue, then LAK are in bigger trouble than we think.

@JWPatarino Yeah; but if they don’t extend Doughty, then that contract washes out at age 35. Doughty is 36 and he’s still on the books until age 37 at $11M. Ed will be gone leading the way for some of the AHLers to fill in. Nurse is not worse thing. Nurse + Clarke not resigned would be.

@JWPatarino If they can take back Ceci or Dumo, then it works. If they come back asking for Clarke, forget it. Pipe dream: I’d approach DD about moving on to EDM for Nurse. Cap wise it works. Dumo can play RD with Anderson. Ceci/Ed on 3rd pairing. Bad for fans- yes! Good for team- yes!

@KopitarGOAT420 The way I see it, LAK have been with bottom 6 Cs for two years. It just happened that Kopi was able to score 60pts two years ago. Last year, it caught up badly. Mediocre Cs with high skilled Wings might do the trick in the near future while they figure out what they really have.

@AStanovich68 it’s unpopular but I maintain that DD is the one to go. Yes, he’s better than all 3, but his refusal to move down the depth chart and play with anyone other than Anderson, hurts this team. Plus his rumored extension demands puts him in JQ category. Plus teams has won w/o him…

@Kopitar4HOF It has to start with Doughty. His cap number and stubborness to take a lesser role keeps pushing Clarke down the line up. At best DD is a RD2, but most likely a RD3 on most teams. Move him and there flexibility with the rest of the D-corp.

@JWPatarino The biggest thing here is that outside of Cassidy, there are no sure fire coaches that are looking at LAK while other HC jobs are open. DJ will be viewed as running it back. Laviolette will be seen as someone Panarin knows. Woodcroft becomes the choice w/a new voice.

@AStanovich68 I wonder if Spence had the same leeway as Hughes and Makar, he’d be looked at differently. I’d rather have Spence than Ceci, but KH won’t go back and admit a mistake, even if he can trade back for him.
