6. Check What Else Is Connected

Old apps you signed into with Google can still be feeding it.

Go to: Data & privacy → scroll to "Third-party apps & services."

Anything you don't recognise or haven't used in months → tap it → "Delete all connections."

5. Wipe The Profile It Built

Your history already got turned into a profile. Deleting the history doesn't delete that.

Go to: Data & privacy → scroll to "My Ad Centre."

Turn off: Personalised ads. Then scroll down and turn off Partner ad settings too.

4. Set Auto-Delete On Anything You Keep

If you want to keep one switched on, at least cap how long it's held.

On each History setting: tap "Auto-delete" → choose 3 months.

Google defaults to 18 or 36 months. Three is the shortest it offers.

3. Stop It Rebuilding Tomorrow

Deleting it means nothing if collection stays on. It'll be full again within a week.

Go back to: Data & privacy → History settings.

Turn off: Web & App Activity, YouTube History, and Timeline.

2. Delete The Copy Google Keeps

The one that actually matters. Everything you searched, watched, and typed, saved against your account.

Go to: Gmail app → tap your profile picture (top right) → Manage your Google Account → swipe to "Data & privacy" → scroll to "History settings" → tap "My Activity."

How to use it: tap Delete → "All time" → confirm. Scroll it before you do. That's the part that gets people.

1. Clear The Browser First

This is the one everybody knows. It only clears what's stored on your device.

Go to: Chrome → three dots (top right) → Delete browsing data → set the time range to "All time" → tick all three boxes → Delete data.

Your device is clean now. Google's copy isn't.
