On this day 88 years ago, the battle of #CableStreet took place. Tens of thousands of Londoners came out to stop the march of Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists.

The BUF had been marching through the east end, launching antisemitic attacks on the Jewish community. But a mass protest of unity and solidarity stopped them in their tracks.
