At Investor Day, we shared lots of new announcements but our co-CEOs Alex Norström and Gustav Söderström share the four ideas guiding them all:
1. The world operates as a power law. And for Spotify, that opens up significant monetization opportunities.
2. Spotify is moving from single player and passive to multiplayer and interactive.
3. The world is moving to generation, where our users are in control and our goal is to give them exactly that.
4. At Spotify, we don’t capture people’s attention with empty calories. We do it by delivering an experience that people truly value.

Streaming represents more than 95% of all music revenue in Mexico, and in 2025, royalties generated by Mexican artists on Spotify reached nearly MXN 8.2B, with Mexican artists accounting for over 70% of the tracks on Spotify Mexico’s Daily Top 50.
Spotify hosted Members of @Europarl_EN from the Future Lab group in Stockholm, where Spotify’s Head of Experience Sten Garmark discussed Spotify’s approach to AI and how Spotify drives discovery for artists’ and creators’ content around the world.
Authenticity means something different in 2026. We increasingly hear from fans that they want more confidence in trusting what they find on Spotify. They want to know whether they're discovering an artist pursuing music as a career, playing gigs, connecting with fans — or whether it's a persona, a content farm, or some kind of spam.
We have shipped (and continue to build) systems to catch suspicious activity and fight deceptive behavior. But positively verifying what IS authentic also has an important role to play. So today we're starting to roll out something new: a Verified by Spotify badge.
When fans see the badge, they'll know the Spotify team has reviewed the artist to confirm sustained active fan interest, compliance with platform rules, and an authentic profile (the artist is who they claim to be). This is a manual process, so we are starting by reviewing hundreds of thousands of artists that represent over 99% of what listeners search for, and will expand to review more artists over time.
Spotify wrapped up Stockholm Music Week with conversations on the future of Swedish music. From an opening dinner with Culture Minister Parisa Liljestrand, to lunch with IFPI Sverige and @STIM_Sweden, to a morning session on discovery and the artist journey, the focus was on building lasting careers. In 2025, Swedish artists generated nearly SEK 2 billion in royalties from Spotify alone, with 66% coming from listeners outside Sweden.

Spotify is rolling out new video controls to give all listeners – especially parents and families – the option to turn off video for music, podcasts, and more. It’s just the latest way we’re giving our listeners more control so they can personalize their Spotify experiences in the way that’s right for them. https://t.co/b4OV78aYcF

Spotify is the economic engine of Canadian artists building global careers in music, and the data proves it. In 2025, they generated over $544M on Spotify, growing 19% year-over-year and outpacing the wider industry - powered largely by fans beyond Canada’s borders.
The right policies can help keep that momentum going. #LoudAndClear
