Didn't get to do any of the draft writing/posting I did the past few years, but still put together a list of guys I have 1st-3rd round grades on (98 guys in total)

Guys I'm higher on than consensus: Denzel Boston, Caleb Banks, Garrett Nussmeier, Malachi Lawrence, Keionte Scott

Guys I'm lower on than consensus: Fernando Mendoza, Makai Lemon, Keldrick Faulk, KC Concepcion, Mike Washington Jr

My intention is not to rub salt but provide clarity after a loss that I’m sure will leave people frustrated and confused.

I think a lot of fans let post-playoff excitement color their view of how they watched this Year 1 Napier team. This is probably the least talented team JMU has fielded during the FBS era. That’s a high bar to clear, and there’s no shame in having an incomplete roster after what the program went through last offseason. Frankly, it’s the norm.

The fact that it got to 7-0 was (and still is) impressive. I think if you offered me 7-2 on Aug 1, I’d have taken it.

Not every year is a CFP year, and this was clearly not a CFP team. Watch the defense last year; watch it this year. Cmon.

It’s time — past time, really — to reset the expectations.

I still think JMU can win the Sun Belt. But IMO, fans should be calibrating toward growth, not conquest. Roster analysis and building back toward being a Top 25 team in ‘27. This year, it is not that.

If you ever thought it was, then respectfully, I would suggest that you should watch more football.

@Pizza_Anthony_ @EdMattersIII @teddyhuncho Yeah that guy sucks

[SpringBlake @SpringBlakeCFB]

Truly one of the most talented Colts in my lifetime. Guard never gets its shine but damn it was nice knowing he'd be up front blocking for the boys every week

[Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter]

Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency.

But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.

@BookOfEli_NFL Two of my favorite quarterbacks ever collide

[SpringBlake @SpringBlakeCFB]

You’re telling me you spend months getting ready to kick off the year and in what should be your best effort and most rested game of the season you’re down FORTY IN THE THIRD QUARTER … TO ANOTHER TEAM THAT ALSO AINT SHIT??

[SpringBlake @SpringBlakeCFB]

Opening night and we already got a 107-66 lead in there? Regular season is cooked wake me up in March

Dame back in Portland. This is awesome.

Let’s build the JMU to Colts pipeline

[Brett Kollmann @BrettKollmann]

(assuming it is also Steichen's last year in Indy)

Am I weird for thinking that Bob Chesney should get a real look for that job?

[SpringBlake @SpringBlakeCFB]

Chris Ballard was really good at identifying talent at non-premium positions (RB, iOL, LB, TE) but struggled with just about all major premium positions (QB, EDGE, CB, WR)

Can’t build sustained success when that’s your biggest flaw

[Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter]

Chris Ballard was in the final season of his contract. He openly had discussed not being worried about not getting an extension. And now he is out in October.

[SpringBlake @SpringBlakeCFB]

@ConnorJRogers Crazy he’s still only 19
