Today, many holiday festivities have a feast. While these meals can be large, these feasts used to have an even larger grand finale: The Twelfth Night Cake. Inside would be a coin, and whomever received that piece of cake would be the King or Queen of the party.
Today is the 150th anniversary of the New England Women's Suffrage Association's rally.
Lucretia Mott, a famous suffragist from this time, has connections to Spring Hill. Her parents lived in Kendal briefly, and Lucretia Mott also spoke at Kendal in 1847.
These American Girl-inspired programs will take you on a journey through time complete with an historical craft or activity and a snack. Participants may bring their favorite grown-up and a character doll with them, if they wish!
