Even when the lights went out… our Blue Jays didn’t. 💙⚡

A power outage during Meet the Teacher meant an unexpected pivot to Plan B, but our teachers, staff, and families showed exactly what Spring Lake is all about.
Smiles never faded, classroom doors opened, and meaningful connections were still made.

Challenges don’t define us—how we respond does.
Today, we chose flexibility, gratitude, and resilience, and our Spring Lake families made Meet the Teacher a success.

Thank you to everyone who embraced the unexpected with such positivity. We can’t wait to welcome our Blue Jays back on Tuesday. No matter what comes our way, we’ll keep learning, growing, and soaring—together. 💙🩵 @WarkentienGM

Today we welcomed our newest Pre-K and PK ESE Blue Jays and their families!

Our orientation gave families a chance to experience a “Day in the Life” of our classrooms while learning about the supports, routines, and inclusive practices that ensure every child feels seen, valued, and successful. Families connected with our amazing teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff, meeting the village that will walk alongside them throughout the year in a calm environment.

At Spring Lake, we believe every child belongs, every family is a valued partner, and together we build a community where all Blue Jays can soar. We can’t wait to welcome our newest Blue Jays! @OCPSnews @ELCOC @EseOcps 💙 #SpringLakeElementary #TogetherWeBuild #InclusiveExcellence

☀️ Summer may be in full swing, but our commitment to our families never takes a break!

Our Parent Engagement Liaison, Karen Martez, spent time connecting with Blue Jay families in the community—sharing resources, building relationships, and reminding every family that Spring Lake is always here to support them. We know that every conversation builds trust, every visit strengthens our community, and every family belongs.

As summer begins, it’s time to refuel, refocus, and prepare for what’s next. Our new administrative team attended and fully engaged in the work set before us at OCPS ILI Leadership Summit. We took the time to celebrate our successes, reflect on lessons learned, and plan for the future. We left energized, motivated, and ready to continue leading with purpose and impact.@OCPSnews @WarkentienGM
