Y2 brought their Great Fire of London learning to life this week. We arranged our Tudor houses close together as in 1666. Then recreated the fire and watched how quickly it spread between the houses.

As part of learning about the justice system in modern times v historically, Y4 held their own mock trial. They learnt about the role of a judge, engaged as prosecution and defense teams and even had a jury. #incourt #springfieldsmiles

This half term in art, Year 4 have been learning about local artist Grayson Perry who works with clay. The children worked to collaborate and discuss techniques. They practised with play dough and evaluated with oracy. Can't wait to see what they will create, #springfieldsmiles

Year 4 & 6 Today took part in the city Tag-Rugby tournament. They played brilliantly and finished 4th and 5th respectively. Year 4 missed out on medal by one try. #springfieldsmiles #eggchasers

Today, our girls and boys football teams played in the city tournament. They both played with enthusiasm and energy. They finished 7th and 13th respectively and players of the tournament were Serah & Spencer... #springfieldsmiles

Recently, as part of Year 4 Lifeskills we had a visit from school governor and local councillor Ian Fuller. The children asked him questions about how local councils have a responsibility to manage our city. #politicalpeople #springfieldsmiles

Micky was so excited to welcome everyone back to school and enjoyed all the attention from his friends. He was lucky enough to be taken for a walk by some children who helped him reacquaint himself with the school grounds. #schooldog #springfieldsmiles

Y5 enjoyed a traditional South African braai as the perfect finale to our South African topic. The braai was lit then the children enjoyed watching the boerewors being cooked.
