Remember Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman who spent 8 years on death row after being accused of “blasphemy” for drinking water from a Muslim’s cup.

Asia was working in the fields with her Muslim coworkers. She got thirsty and went to fetch water from the well, where she took a drink with an old metal cup she had found. That’s all it took.

Christians are considered dirty and impure in Islam, and she was accused of attempting to contaminate the Muslims’ water just by drinking from their cup. She was sentenced to death by hanging.

The governor of her province voiced opposition to the verdict and was assassinated by his own bodyguard.

When she was finally acquitted in 2018 due to international pressure, tens of thousands of Muslims rioted, demanding her immediate execution.

A local poll found that 10 MILLION Pakistanis would personally kill her if given the chance. Just for drinking water from a Muslim’s cup.

Her lawyer had to flee the country. And after months in hiding, she was finally able to escape Pakistan and received asylum in Canada.

This is Pakistan, where non-Muslims live under the constant threat of death. The more I learn about this country, the more it just feels like ISIS with a formal government.

1. Most Israeli Jews are people of color - Ethiopian Jews, Moroccan Jews, Iranian Jews, Sabras…

2. For those white folks who hate us, like the Nazis did, we were never part of the “white” race. For those black folks who hate us, we are all “white.” We are neither. We are Jews.

3. Ashkenazic Jews didn’t just materialize in Europe. We were exiled from Judea, Samaria, and the Galil multiple times by various occupying empires. The land of Israel was occupied by, among others over the centuries, the Assyrians, Babylonians, Romans, Ottomans, Persians, Arabs (not in that order and not all exiled us, some, like the Persians, allowed us to return). We didn’t choose to go into the Diaspora. We were forcibly expelled.

Some Jews went to the Middle East and North Africa - and in the last century, 850,000 were forcibly exiled by violent pogroms (between 1948 and the early 1970s). Most went to Israel.

After WWII, after the Nazis and their supporters exterminated 2/3 of every European Jew (6 million human beings, including 1.5 million children), some survivors sought safe haven in Israel, only to be attacked a few years after liberation (the day after Israel declared her independence ) by 5 Arab countries [Egypt, Jordan (Transjordan), Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq, as well as expeditionary forces or volunteers from other Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Sudan).

If you are going to preach about loving others, you might want to do so without demonstrating your own antipathy toward Jews or at least do some due diligence and check your “facts” to ensure accuracy. You are propagating lies and in doing so, inciting hate.
